Registered 6 years agoSo with this being in the steam sale. Ive been meaning to pick the GOTY version for the 360 of this for a while. Would i be as well getting it on the PC. IS it better on the pc? Plenty of people still playing it on MP? are there mods for it on the PC version to give it a longer life? -

Registered 8 years agoMain problem with the PC version is that duping and modding of weapons is rife. Also BL is a game you don't really want to play with Randoms
I did it once. I've not recovered yet

Registered 7 years agoThis is true, it's not really a game to be played with randoms.
However, with mods and modding also comes The Oasisツ

Registered 7 years agoStill one of my favourite games, but I'm starting to wonder if the levelling isn't a little screwy.
Went back to the game a week ago, was around a level 53 Mordecai. I'm on playthrough two, and was slowly levelling up in the second run of the Zombie Ned dlc. Decided to pop into the Knoxx stuff again (despite the irritations of the singular spawn point). I was earning nothing in XP for kills, despite it being set to plathrough two.
Decided to wander aroumd, went to the Guardian infested Promontory, right before the end game. Got a decent pistol, and found myself one-shotting the guardians... and earning anywhere between 6000 and 20000 XP per kill. I went from level 58 to 70 in two hours of play time.
That's got to be wrong, right?
Went into the Knoxx area, to find enemeies and loot still aren't scaling. Seems very off.
Next stop, Crawmerax. -

Registered 8 years agoI'm up for some Moxxi's (xbox version), still got a couple of the larger arenas to finish and it'd be nice to get them done before BL2 comes out (next month!!). -

Registered 7 years agoI'd be up for some of that as well. If five or six hours should magically make themselves available at the right time, of course.ツ

Registered 7 years agoHeh. Well maybe not that long... 4 hr or certainly less if you have an under-levelled host. Is that a bit more reasonable?ツ

Registered 8 years agowell it took me 3 hours to get to round 18 then the game crashed and it killed my enthusiasm for the game dead. Haven't been able to play it for more than 20 minutes at a time since."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." Zapp Brannigan

Registered 6 years agoI'm just going through Borderlands for the first time, if anyone here wishes to join me on my travels.
I played with a few decent randoms last night, but a couple of them were obsessed with duelling (them lvl. 45+, me lvl. 7 – wonder who will win?) and playing in the deathmatch zones.
I don't quite understand why you would want to. It's a co-op shooter – if you want to play deathmatch, go play COD or Halo, right? -

Registered 8 years agosome people need to think they are the best at something, if you let them duel they feel compelled to. Which mattered early on but when the loot system got hacked it's just an exercise in futility these days dueling. But there's people who still need to know they are the best."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." Zapp Brannigan

Registered 8 years ago@FatsoJetson - what are you playing it on? I could be up for a few sessions (lvl 55 Soldier)
re: Duelling - never saw the point TBH. It's much more fun shooting midgets!
Borderlands isn't really a game to play with Randoms -

Registered 8 years agoThe dueling can be fun, obviously you're wasting your time going in at level 7 against someone much higher, but if you're evenly matched it's ok. Borderlands 2 allows you to duel to see who wins the loot, and that's someone I'm expecting to do a lot of. -

Registered 5 years agoOk, the rather fun zombie island DLC is done, any recommendations on which one to start next? General Knoxx or Claptrap Revolution?
Should I take them in chronological order of release? Do they relate to each other at all, or does it not really matter? -

Registered 6 years agoClaptrap will probably be easier, and gives some crazy loot drops. Knoxx always levels missions two above your current level, and is a real grind in SP. Having some good elemental drops from claptrap will help you out big time.
Edit: I did it the other way around, so Dirtbox could be right too. I'd done Knoxx before claptrap and was in the 60's so the missions were trivial. Could be different if you're a lower level.

Registered 5 years agoOk, thanks muchly folks. I'll probably try them in order then.
Although from what neil says Knoxx might be a struggle in SP, so may try that on live instead. I am on playthrough 2 at lev 48, so claptrap might be ok if it is level capped. I might travel there and see what level the enemies are.
Zombie Island required some levelling up before I could start to tackle that since I was on playthrough 2 and they all started at 42 when I was a mere 37. 2 levels above for Knoxx might be tough, but do-able. -

Registered 3 years agoI've recntly been playing through this game again and all of it's dlc with a friend via split-screen. We've done pretty much everything now, achievement-wise, bar the Claptrap collect-a-thon, Moxxi's Underdome (we made a start yesterday) and Crawmerax. I'm a level 69 Berserker and he's a level 69 Siren. Does anybody have any tips on Crawmerax? I've had a look online but couldn't find much of use, everybody seems to assume we have guns that can destroy his weakpoints in a few shots which we don't (maybe that's the problem?). Is he any easier on Playthrough 1?XBL/ PSN/ Steam/ NNID - MatMan562
