Looks like some awful TV show tbh.

Yup.
It doesn't look like anything yet.
It's just a well made intro. -

Registered 9 years agoi feel like Bernard black
you know, in that episode where they are writing a children's book and manny suggests some story ideas and Bernard screams a blood curdling NOOOOOOOOO NONONONONO WRONG HIDEOUS DRIVEL!
when i saw that trailer i thought maybe just maybe someone was finally going to make the purely survival game i'd dreamt of, finding yourself in the middle of a disaster with what you thought was irrelevant knowledge, but no; its a fucking FPS
"you find a shotgun, but its out of shells"
come on to fuck, everyone knows after a few hours you'll be jaunting around tearing peoples faces to shreds with shot.
Its boring.
I was so excited about this game, but not any more. the magic's gone.
If by any miracle they don't mean first person shooter and they just mean First person perspective, then maybe just maybe it'll be okay, but combat better not be at the forefront of this game, if its a last resort to protect yourself and more likely the best choice will be to run-like-fuck
It might still have a chance. -

Well..... People (game players, the developers, publishers, the king of siam, grey men) generally agree that first person shooters are a cliche and what is required is a fresh approach that challenges gamers in new and interesting ways.

So.. it's bound to be a shooter.

Registered 5 years agoSounds intriguing, but I'm anticipating a completely idiotic supernatural cause for the earthquake, possibly involving shooting lots of monsters later in the game. -

Registered 7 years agoEver since I found out it's actually first person perspective I've gone stone cold on this. A bit of a surprise really and incongruous. If it's first person why did the short trailer show a third person viewpoint?
I'll stick with Disaster Report/SOS The Final Escape and Raw Danger for my survival gaming needs I guess, they're third person and I never had any problems relating to what was happening onscreen. I prefer the better navigation only possible when you can see where your character actually is. -

This is actually the firdt time I've ever looked in to this game and I must say that upon watching the trailer I had exactly the same thoughts as you.

I think I'll just stick to replaying SOS The Final Escape as its potrayal is almost perfect. Not that I'd know what it's like to be in any such situation mind.Xbox Live/PS3/Steam - Kokapetl

It was listed for Q1 2010 in their financials the other day. Aside from that it may as well not exist. Just like BG&E2.

New Trailer
Me and my friend were talking about this the other day. Nice to see it hasn't completely disappeared. -
I was sure you were going to say it was cancelled when I saw this bumped!
Trailer looks pretty good, but the lack of platforms at the end is very weird - I'm inclined to agree with Kotaku that this might very well be turning up as a Sony exclusive later today. -

Registered 7 years agoStill no actual game play. At this rate I doubt we'll even see it next year.
I'm hoping somebody saw sense and it's shifted back to a third person game at least. -

Registered 8 years agoIt was all a big trick...an example of French humour, for I Am Alive isn't going to be a digital release, and Jade Raymond was swift to knock that sort of nonsense on the head, as soon as she realised someone had been spreading around the idea that it was, and the suggestion had gained traction. Those jolly jeuxvideo japesters, how they must have rolled! It's not even April. -
Unreleased trailer leak! Watch it quick, before it vanishes in a puff of legal.

There've been a few words exchanged in the official XBLA thread, but not much yet.

Playing through the demo as we speak (360) not too shaby at all.
