Cheers - you have reminded me of a few I have already bought on my old PS3.
Transaction history on the PSN site is as useful as tits on a bull.

Ico/SOTC is on offer on the store at the moment (under 15 for PS+ members). Has it ever been cheaper than that? I'm reluctant to spend money on digital stuff from Sony, now they've confirmed no BC.

Currently playing Uncharted. I wanted to like this, and I do, immensely :) Love the cheesy story, voice acting and location (would look great with the Just Cause 2 engine). What I like most is that it reminds me of great PS2 games, and how I've missed them after 5 years of having a 360 and it's 'dudebro' exclusives.

It's funny the same thing happened me coming to the end of the PS2/Xbox era I gave up on PS2 for a bit (didn't replace borked hardware) and then in it's final year it pretty much took over as my gaming platform of choice. Can see the same thing happening this time around. Only really play co-op games now on the 360. So I am gonna go back and play the stuff I've missed out on.

Think quite a few of us are new to PS3 and catching up on what we've missed. I've been pleasantly surprised by it after on a couple of months :) Does feel odd going back to the dualshock though, coming from the 360 pad, and I've noticed 'claw hand' pains after an hour which I don't get with the 360 pad.

Yea I found the same thing last time around too. Definitely not as ergonomic as the 360 controller. But I am getting used to it now. Finding the controls on the Vita to be similar.

Great time to do it with the PS4 on the way - can pick up stuff I have missed for peanuts.

I don't think I've ever seen Team Ico Collection cheaper than that. I bought it on disc when it first came out, and then bought it from the store at a later date when it was on offer for a similar 15 ish. Was going to trade my disc copy, but I just can't bring myself to get rid. I love these games; I've now bought them three times over :/

I did this last gen - caught up with loads of cheap games I'd missed for very little expense. Unfortunately I ended up with a backlog of 30+ PS2 and Xbox games and had to write most of them off!

Yea it happens. Still have a massive backlog on the 360. Think this time around I will probably just stick to one console. (who am I kidding). At least this time around it's only 2 players.

Can't believe no one mentioned the Infamous games, Infamous 2 is my second favourite open world game just behind Fallout 3.

Not an essential by any means and the controls are pretty awful but I fired up Killolzone 2 last night. It's no Halo but it's much better than the first one. Pleasantly surprised.

Might start on Heavy Rain tonight depending on how addled the noggin gets in the next hour or so.

BTW Mod Nation racers is fantastic. Had a go with my two boys and loved it.

ModNation is so close to being a superb racer. It's really creative, has loads of options and is, for the most part, technically very impressive. It's just a shame that the loading times are *so* poor (even after many patches) and IMO the handling feels a bit off. I'd have preferred United Front had the chance to make a proper sequel last year, rather than LBP Karting.

Just having a quick look over the games on my HDD, and trying to avoid those already mentioned:

    Sound Shapes
Retro/Grade (not sure if this is exclusive)
Puzzle Dimension (not sure if exclusive; like a modern Kula World)
    Payday: The Heist
    MotorStorm RC
    Infamous: Festival of Blood
    Hustle Kings (brilliant pool game)
Datura (very weird first person surreal puzzle game thing. Very underrated IMO)
    Cuboid (neat puzzler)
Papo & Yo (surreal adventure about a boy and his monster friend)
Knytt Underground (puzzle-platformer which reminds me of Limbo)
    Tokyo Jungle
    Critter Crunch
When Vikings Attack! (fun, but wait for a price drop)

Man, I completely forgot about this game. I remember watching Giant Bomb's Quick Look of it and thinking it looked really cool. Just looking on Metacritic and it got a 4/10 from IGN, which is a ringing endorsement of it in my eyes.

    There's a demo of P&Y. I haven't finished it, but it's clearly not a 4 out of 10.

I loved P&Y. A good game in its own right, but with a brilliant story woven through.

    calm down dear!

Sometimes a list will remind you of certain games and the likes. I often use these sort of threads to decide on my next game. like i'm doing now.

Is it worth getting the full Uncharted trilogy and playing from 1-3? Or shall I just skip 1 and go straight to the more heralded sequel?

Completed Golden Abyss on the Vita so not new to the series.

  • Deleted user 9 March 2013 16:31:25
Yeah for sure, UC1 is a great game and well worth playing. It holds up just as well as 2 and 3.

First is the best of the lot.

I'd agree with that, and not in an original-is-always-best way.
1 feels very focused, 2 still good, but starting to creek a bit gameplay-wise, 3 I gave about 10 hours to and sold on, hated it. 3 felt like my wanting to occasionally take control and, you know, play a video game, was an inconvenience to the designers who'd really rather be making a film.

    Thanks guys.

The idea of an Uncharted marathon is very appealing.

I'm not sure what the Bartonfink actually is looking for in this thread. Do you want people to list every single PS3 exclusive ? because the thread bump is pointless if you are only looking for exclusives.

If you are a gamer then you should already know the types of games you like or if you are looking for something different from your usual games thats what Google is for. Google exists for a reason. Use it.
    Oh do fuck off.
