    @monkehhh I've noticed that if you check bang on 6pm the games have changed but the prices haven't. You need to come back after a few minutes to get the actual discounts.

    Is it me or is this near enough the exact same sale as a few weeks ago?
  • Deleted user 21 December 2013 20:07:59
    Some of it is. Saying that, almost everything has been on sale at one point so...

    Hadn't picked up the doom games yet for this PC so grabbed ultimate doom, doom 2, final doom for a fiver.

    Feel like I will actually be able to resist most of the sales this time round, as I'm still catching up from previous ones!

    What did Saints Row 4 get reduced to in the last sale a little while back? Hoping it drops to around 15.

    @SG59
    Btw Walking Dead S1 is only 5.24 on GMG, it's the Steam version too.

    @joeymoto108 brilliant! Thanks a lot.

    I've already played it on 360, but want to play the lot on PC ready for S2 :)

    @joeymoto108 Even though I spent most of my time playing 8 shouting at Squall to complete a sentence I think gameplay-wise it's superior. Don't the enemies level with you in that one? 7 was more than a bit too easy, and that's the "hard" version. I think I was dazzled by its razzmatazz as it was my first Japanese RPG. Since then I've developed a deep dislike for anything (not just games) that has an overly-contrived plot and where every character is merely a plot device. Have gone back in time and played many earlier JRPGs that I would rate as much better games (e.g. Chrono Trigger and Phantasy Star IV). Can't be nostalgia talking when you played the older ones last! Have to say that playing through the first NES Final Fantasy was particularly unpleasant. Maybe it's why I've got quite a lot of appreciation for the Phantasy Star series - all of its games still stand up to being played today.

    Yeah - I think some of these re-releases are effectively shovelware. Looking at Steam right now, Phantasy Star IV is cheaper (E1.24 - it is an emulated Megadrive game). I'd say it's far superior to FFVII because:
    * It doesn't piss about with the plot and take itself far too seriously.
    * Gameplay is snappy and to the point.
    * It sometimes has the nerve to kill you.

    The amount of early access games on Steam at the moment is ridiculous.

    I'm making a point of not buying into early access, it's crazy! Also I think it can do more harm than good, was really interested in 'Sir, you are being hunted' but a lot of people say it's fairly boring at the moment which I an sure is a case of it being incomplete. It's off-putting though.

    Its annoying as there's no real rush to bring out the final product if people are paying for a unfinished version.

    It's one of the drivers of innovation and mitigating its associated risk, so generally fine with me. It's a market driven thing so if it doesn't work, it'll die out long term

    By the way, anyone who is interested in sims in general, there are massive discounts on the main trains and planes add ons in pretty much all of the stores - flight1, simmarket, flight sim store etc

    @Shikasama click on them to get the real price, or wait 'til the main store page updates properly.

    Fairly underwhelming bargains today, I think everything has been cheaper elsewhere or on Steam itself quite recently.

    edit: never mind, front page is still gimped on prices.

    The newest Sherlock Holmes is great. I bought the entire back catalogue after playing that one in a later sale, and predictably have not played any of them yet
