I think HIB 9 is the highest quality bundle ever. MoTN and FTL were 2 of my top 10 games last year and FTL was in my top 20 (Last year was a bloody amazing year for games.)

I've never paid less than $10 dollars for a HIB but just bought 2 bundles for $4.59 each as gifts for a couple of friends who won't play FTL no matter how awesome I tell them it is.

Do I get Gunpoint for £3.49 in the Steam Midweek Sale? It'll be in a bundle before Xmas, right?

I'm saying this with a 100+ game Steam backlog, not because I don't think the game is worth £3.49.

Gunpoint is my favourite single player game of the year so far, so I'd say yes

Humble Weekly Sale is the X games. Not quite as bargain-tastic as usual - hasn't X3: TC been under $5, and Albion Conflict $2.50 already? Or maybe I'm remembering wrong, as I've already owned them both since roughly the times they were available on Steam. But if you don't have either, $6 is nice-nice.

And while you do get a bunch of older X games in the pack (or a few older ones for the $1 entry fee), it's not really a great deal, because the X games are basically the same game, slightly improved with each iteration. It's a bit like getting Tetris, Tetris 2, Tetris 3, Tetris 4 and Tetris 5, where each one is a slight improvement on its predecessor without losing anything.

Wow. That sounds like such a negative post, reading back. Let me spoiler all that and just say that
if you don't have Terran Conflict or Albion Prelude and you have any interest in sandboxy spacey games at all, you should definitely spend that $6!

If anyone buys the humble bundle and wants to add Star Wars and Star Trek ships to the game, check out the Space Sim Appreciation thread as I linked a mod I did in there that does just that :)

    SteamOS... interesting.

Depends on the support it gets from game devs I guess.

It's literally the one thing I'm looking forward to in gaming now.

The ability to put my gaming PC on and play it on my TV and actually catch up on my backlog :)

Since it wouldn't need a dedicated GPU. You could put together a PC for SteamOS for about £250, the game streaming would have to be really good for acceptable performance though. The other problem is mouse keyboard on the couch is a little difficult but pad supported games should be fine.

Long-term Steam OS boxes will only be viable if Valve can get Nvidia and AMD on board for drivers and Valve have to develop a complete replacement for DirectX and work with middleware companies like Unity, Epic and Crytek to incorporate support for it in their engines, so that devs can produce a Linux version of a game with minimal effort.

To some degree Unity3d already does this but Linux just isn't well supported from the GPU side.

    Quite tempted by this

Only briefly tried Tropico 3 back when I did a stint on Metaboli but looked interesting so I quite fancy 4 that Jagged Aliance looks intriguing to...oh and you know...charity.

    SavyGamer Bundle

5 brilliant indie games. Featuring the face-meltingly colourful arena shooter Death Ray Manta, the underwater papercraft chomp-'em-up Derrick the Deathfin, the super techie turn-based tactics game Frozen Synapse, the dark and brooding adventure Richard & Alice and the mind-bending puzzler SpaceChem.
Not a bad selection for around, I presume, £5 (it's showing as €7.38 for me.)

    Go on then.
