For the love of sweet gemima, nobody buy The Binding of Isaac, even at that price. I was expecting an indie gem (bought it yonks ago). What I got was a glistening, hot turd with extra sweetcorn. Pfft!

Tempted by Van Helsing, meant to be a pretty decent Torchlight/Diablo alike. Was hoping it'd win the vote the other day but alas.

Edit: Van Helsing seemed to just jump from 8.99 down to 5.99, bought!!!

@Apollo I know - its mad. Even I'm starting to consider buying it and the only reason I can think of is all the sublimnal advertising in this thread. I never even liked Yorkie bars as a kid either.

Binding is Isaac is great and for 99p it's a no-brainer.

Needs to be played with a pad, though.

Also - does anyone have Sang Froid who could give some advice as to whether it's different enough from normal tower defence games (which I dislike) to be worth buying? The setting really intrigues me and it's only four quid.

I am also thinking of getting Sang Froid. Can't tell you much about it but EG did score it 9/10.

Giant Bomb did a Quick Look of it a while back that made it look pretty fun.

In the most polite way possible, how poor are you, and what is wrong with your brain?

Binding of Isaac is an excellent game that everyone should own. That and Dark Souls are probably the best value for money in most steam sales.

Haha, it wasn't related to the price. I just found it absolutely terrible after hearing so many great things about it. Is there anyway to remove the greyed out listing from my Steam library? It's very existence there saps my soul!

Just picked up Van Helsing. Wasn't expecting it to be over 19gb!

If I remember correctly, isn't it supposed to be a bit short?

    @magicpanda

Haven't played either of them but going by screenshots, 2 looks streets ahead visually at least.

What did you dislike about Issac ? Genuinely interested as ive sunk more time into Issac than i care to admit.

It is a roguelike to the core with a unique art style so i can understand it not being for everyone but i thought all would appreciate the solid mechanics, and is rather moreish.

Known as 'Sharzam' in 98.5% of games

I found euro truck 2 the most boring and pointless game I've ever played. Is 1 anything like that?

Hmm, maybe I didn't give it much of a chance. I do like rogue likes generally, but I seem to remember just having a great aversion to everything about it at the time, can't remember specifics.

Actually, thinking about, I recall I heard it was vaguely NES Zelda like on a podcast and so approached it thus. It wasn't at all what I expected. Maybe I should I give it another go sometime. Ha! What a turn around.

Vaguely related, I've been hoping Rogue Legacy would dip a little further in price. I suppose it's only been out a few weeks though, so unlikely.

Bloody hell, 19gb, you weren't wrong! When I read your post earlier I thought, hmm, surely he's mixing it up with 1.9gb.

Most expensive day of the sale so far for me, doubled my spend to date with Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes at a smidge over £15. Teacher's holidays coming up so stocking up the warchest!!

    I credited my Steam wallet with £50 at the start, setting a limit on my spending. Got £9.73 left, so far bought;

    Gunpoint
    Cave Story+
    Knife of Dunwall Dishonored dlc
    Don't Starve
Upgrade to gold dlc for Civ 5
    Dust Elysian Tale
    Van Helsing
    Sleeping Dogs
    Tomb Raider Anniversary
    Hotline Miami
    Dragonborn DLC

Only just starting playing stuff, finished Last of Us this week. I've kicked off with Gunpoint, half way through, it's great!

Think I will pick up Torchlight.

To the Euro Truck Simulator fans...what exactly makes it good? I've read about it but there appears to be nothing to differentiate it from the Street Cleaner Pro games you find in PC World. Happy to be proved otherwise though as for some reason it does interest me...

Well you drive trucks, it supports mods, it looks nice, you can build a trucking empire, you can setup real radio stations in your cab (currently cruising to radio 6), er.. trucks!
