    who said anything about codes?

Many games are just the installers that don't have anything to do with steam

Steam don't give a fuck what amazon do, they get the same income either way.
  • Deleted user 17 May 2013 09:00:33
Some of them do have steam codes, the point stands, why would valve care what amazon do with the codes? They still get the same income/have already been paid.

I heard about people having probs with codes bought from dodgier looking russian sites (game would vanish from account, not a ban) but haven't heard about problems with amazon myself so far

guess there would be issues if you tried to buy direct from steam with a vpn though

I've heard two reports at CAG of people having GMG-bought games removed from their Steam library, but that's only two instances out of thousands of complaints I've read there, so the chances seem vanishingly small. I've never heard of a Steam account ban or Steam game removed after buying a code from Amazon, Gamersgate, GetGamesGo or another legitimate Western site.

If you want to see a dodgy site, do some research on "G2Play". :D

Mark of the Ninja has been added to Amazon's sale today, for US$3.75. I own it, so it must be good! :p

I see The Sims 3 is 9.99 on Origin until 20th May. Is that as cheap as it's likely to go?

Gamefly US had it for US$7.49 in January (according to Deals4Downloads), but 10 is a reasonably good sale price for The Sims 3. If you want to play it now-ish, go for it!

Has anyone ever seen skyrim as a DD for a tenner or less? 15 on steam at the moment, waiting for it to hit that sweet spot somewhere.

I got it for 7.50 last week from GamersGate. Really, really sorry I didn't post it up here. I did mean to, but got distracted and assumed someone else would post it...

Next Steam sale will likely have it and all the DLC cheap. Ditto Borderlands 2, I imagine.

No-one was interested in a FREE game?! :p

OK, I can't quite remember how much this was last month, although I think it was a similar price. Still, some people enjoy buying directly from Steam despite the price premium, and there's also a 4-pack that lowers the price somewhat. So: Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion for 8.49.

@PenguinJim The penny arcade game has been so cheap before that most people probably already have it.

"No-one was interested in a FREE game?! "

FWIW i got a code so thanks for the heads up Jim. Do you need to have played 1 and 2 first to get the most from it?

I hope not! I enjoyed the demo of 1 on release, but for some reason starting the full game last year was painful. It felt like a Flash game. :( And it was only 208MB. Good games are at least 1GB nowadays.

Not sure if I'll give it another shot or not. 3 looks much better, thankfully.

    http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8672/

    6.24 for both

    or

The new Humble weekly bundle is rather good. Alan Wake + American Nightmare, with a minimum payment of $1 for Steam keys if you're really cheap. :p

No, from what I've read. I was interested, now I'll give it a miss.

Sins of a Solar Empire looks great, but very complex and lacking a campaign mode apparently(?) I've read the end-game can take quite a while too once it's a given that one player is dominant.

Can anyone advise if it's worth the sub-tenner price? I'm a fan of strategy games in general such as CoH, Civ 4, Starcraft and the Total War series; this looks a little different though, especially the learning curve. Many thanks!

@Aretak If I got those games would I get separate Steam keys for Alan Wake and Nightmare? It's just that I've already got Nightmare on Steam :)

They came up as separate keys for me bud. :)

Edit - Although it does say on the keys page -

'Steam will not provide extra giftable copies of games you already own.'

    So....
