I'm glad I picked up Assassin's Creed II in the sale but bloody hell, it really isn't optimised for PC, is it? Had to use XPadder to get a controller working on it properly, as it wouldn't accept the triggers. It runs like a dog too, for some reason. I can play much newer, more graphically advanced, games with no worries but this is very iffy. Still, having fun and whatnot.

Watch out - Steam returned an error code but the purchase still went through. Thought I got it for free but ive been debited. Just purchased one as a gift too, charged my card but it's not showing in my gifts section.

edit - It's appeared in my gifts section now.

So this sale I've got Home, To The Moon and the grand finale of Sleeping Dogs for 2.69!

Anyone played Heroes VI? Is it worth the 8.99 Gamersgate are asking for it? Very tempted by it probably just by the nostalgia for Heroes III.

Looks like they've corrected the prices now, the game is showing as 10.19. Got an utter bargain there then.

@thefilthandthefury There's a little .ini file for both Assassins I and II that gives you full controller support for xbox controller. Haven't link but easily found in forums: )

I bought quite a bit (again, when will I learn?), but stuck to my budget (just):

    Anno 2070
    Battlestations: Pacific (via Amazon)
    Evochron Mercenary
    Mount and Blade: Napoleonic DLC
    Port Royale 3
    Sine Mora (via GMG)
    Torchlight II
Total War: Shogun - Fall of the Samurai

Plus some discounted DLCs for Crusader Kings 2 and Total War.

I also grabbed The Secret World for 8 quid via Amazon, but I'm not counting that in my official Christmas sale purchases list, as that would blow the budget ;)

Looking back at that list, they are mostly major time-sink games, and the thing I am most short of is time :/

Bargain so far for me has been the Napoleon DLC for Mount and Blade. Disappointment of the sale is probably The Secret World, but I have yet to check out Sine Mora, Torchlight, and Evochron Mercenary.

Ah, nice one. I'll check that out in a second.

Any tips for making it run better? Any tweaks or anything? I just played Sleeping Dogs on high quality with no problems at all, yet this is struggling o_O

Managed to get that 2.69 Sleeping Dogs deal. I've been wanting to play it for a while.

Hmm, odd. I can't for the life of me work out why it's like this. I can play all other current games and they all run much smoother... Skyrim runs a hell of a lot better! It's still playable though, so I won't complain too much.

I found the .ini to fix the controller and it's worked a treat!

@thefilthandthefury I didn't tweak it per se. Runs nicely on my Core 2 Duo 3.0 ghz; Igb Gpu HD4870 and 4gbs of RAM.

@thefilthandthefury Could be a core issue? Probably designed to run on two?
