I really don't get why people think this sale was so bad. Can someone give me some examples of what they found so pricey other than say Far Cry 3?!
Everyone already has all the games that were on sale due to previous sales. Therefore, the sale this year was shit.

30 flights of loving is... interesting.

Almost a Tarrantino vibe to it?

Jesus! And you had the gall to ask 18 for Brink. :p

The main reason I thought the steam sale was shit, is because of most games priced in each sale this year at 75% only showing 66% off (yes, I'm glaring at Dead Island amongst others!) in the Christmas sale. Happy New Year indeed. /sarcasm

Ed: But in many ways the games at 66% I didn't buy saved me more cash, so I shouldn't be too bitter I suppose.

Do you know what? with all these prices going to pot over the last year, its very tempting to buy Rage. Just in case that see's a price increase on steam, with a smaller discount in the sales in the coming year. :/

Far Cry 3 for super cheaps was pretty good (thanks again anonymous hero) and Lego LOTR for 4.75 is probably rather bitchin' too, hard to say as I've not played it yet.

Lego LOTR went to 4.75? Damn... shame I missed that one, I quite like those games.

Well, kinda. On Geeenmangaming they had sleeping dogs on offer for about 10 but there was a 30% off code and you got 4 credit back, so I got that and used the credit against the next daily deal which was Lego LOTR. With the 30% code and the credit I got it for 4.75.

I may get quicdo on both too :)

It was the first sale I've participated in really, so I've been more than happy. I've picked up some great stuff from Steam (Civ V, Sleeping Dogs, Assassin's Creed II, Total War collection, Deus Ex, with Snapshot, Dungeon Defenders and The Binding of Isaac being gifted to me) and used Green Man Gaming for the first time (for Sonic Generations and Gods & Kings for Civ V). There's still a load of stuff I WANTED to get in addition, but saw sense. Got enough for now!

I suppose after another sale or two my choices will be a lot more limited however!

For anyone who bought a game from Amazon US and has the $5 off Editors Choice promotional voucher you can pick up Spec Ops The Line or Darkness 2 for $2.49/1.50.

Ok that did sound a bit like a Jeopardy answer.

There is the 360 pad which has the better Dpad bit, is it called a particular name? I just want to make sure I try to buy the correct one. The Dpad on the wired one I have is a real horror show.

Hoping Sleeping Dogs wins the current vote, if that drops to around a tenner it'll be getting snapped up.

The aren't named any differently but you can tell by looking at them. Amazon link, the DPAD directions are different colour and the sticks look a little different in the middle.

I had problems with some error messages. Turns out I hadn't installed the .NET framework. Not that it'll be your issue this time, but it's worth a look. This thing. If you've already got it then by all means ignore the heck out of me
Just got round to trying this and it worked so huge thanks!

Hotline Miami is also 1.50 with the code. I'm tempted, but my bank (Halifax) charges me an "overseas transaction fee" of 1.50 whenever I buy anything from Amazon.com, making any discounts almost redundant.

I have an Amazon Mastercard and works fine on the US site with no charges. Not saying everyone should get a credit card but I find it rather handy for use on Amazon in general.

Bah, Skyrim won the latest vote by a single percentage point. Damn shame that, was hoping for Dogs on that one.

The Amazon discount doesn't work by voucher, it's applied automatically on purchase.

@ZuluHero Might've been more to do with getting a discount on the DLC. I wouldn't have bothered with Dawnguard at full price, but I went for it at 50% off (earlier in the sale)

Edit: Now I've looked at the listing, Dawnguard isn't in that flash deal so my above comment makes me look like a bit of a tit :)

Glad I got Skyrim on GameFly before it shot back up to 20. Should have got the DLC when Steam had the Elder Scrolls series on daily, but ehh. I'll have to get it full price later down the line. Can't see TES going on further discount again.

But saying that, it has been a season of reruns. Haha

So I bought Plants vs Zombies in the sale the other day, only to find out it's hard locked at 800x600 resolution! So totally worthless really. Just a heads up.
