How does Orcs Must Die 2 compare to the first one? I remember getting a little stuck and then (foolishly) never went back to it.

FTL is calling out to me, too - as is Home and Thirty Flights of Loving.
I want to know more about OMD2 as well, but at 2.99 it's really in impulse territory. Hey, it's only a pint of lager.
True - but then I'm more of a cider man.

Just about to purchase Thirty Flights and FTL - downloading Gravity Bone, too - I have to play that one before the sequel.

edit: just discovered that I had some money in my Pay Pal account thanks to a GiffGaff 'payback' from last month. I love it when that happens!

Thirty Flights is something I love the sound of, but am dubious to buy for what seems to be a 30-minute machinima movie based on what I've read.

I stopped reading after the spoiler warning, but if RPS gives it a thumbs up I'm convinced to give it the benefit of the doubt. Not many sites I trust that implicitly.

Wish I'd got Lego Lord of the Rings while it was on amazon.com for $7 (~4.50). Not that the EU steam deal is bad per se, it's just.. actually yeah comparatively it's pretty shit.

Blood Bowl at a tenner after 50% off in voting. Best I can hope for? Tempted but impulse buy in steam is a fiver for me.

voted civilization V but i will never give steam 7.5. The same for FLT, a friend of mine showed it to me and it's a great game, love the gameplay but 5 is way too much.
Sims 3 is a good game, but it gets boring soon... the things i hate the most about it are the pudding faces and the fact that every clothing material looks like rubber

My English sucks, i know... fell free to correct me

    Welcome to the club mate.

Just don't disappear out the other end and convince yourself Farmville is an acceptable mainstream application of Sims-based game design.

It's interesting but not really worth the money (about 15 minutes long). After reading how brilliant it is on RPS I expected a lot more from it really.

Out of interest, have you played Dear Esther? It's shorter but more interactive than that, and the story isn't told in a narrated way. If you like weird interactive stories you will probably enjoy it.

Is giana sisters any good? I remember playing a version of that on my Amiga years ago and that was pretty much a super mario rip off.

Try the demo maybe? I did and quite liked it. I like the dark world art mainly. It's more akin to Rayman Origins than Mario now, the demo seemed 8/10 to me in line with the metacritic 82 or so it's got I think.

It's anything but. The more he posts the more I get the feeling spuds knows eff all about games because he'd rather moan about them, games journalists, the games industry and gamers than actually take part.

The story certainly isn't shallow, quite the opposite. I didn't really understand it though...

@ZuluHero I ended up buying it off the back of the demo, it definitely utilises more vertical space than most of the old Mario games. It goes a little into puzzle territory with the light/dark switch stuff and hidden paths. It looks lovely for an indie game, quite similar aesthetics to Trine in some ways.

You get two copies (DRM free and a steam code) on the FTL developers website.

Tempted by Driver for 3.24. Surely there's enough of it's old DNA in there to mean it's still fun for a few quid?

Kind of tempted by Saints Row: The Full Package as well. I already have the game on 360, but it comes with so much extra stuff...

@Kujata Driver is a great laugh and you can get some superb replays + some of the random conversations you have when you warp into a vehicle can be hilarious.
