He is apparently doing some kind of live band, nothing to do with d&b :( Waste of ahuge talent if that is true.

Dunno, depends how good that live band is really doesn't it :p

The Dom & Roland is growing on me - like the sort of ravey vocal samples on Mind Feeders. Remind me a bit of what the Prodigy's done recently with Warrior's Dance - tapping into that old rave atmosphere.

I don't rate him in the least personally. Too much synth pad and not enough drum or bass.

I think I'm with Razz in preferring more jungly stuff. I recently found an old mixtape I did in about '97 with The Box Re-Opens and a ton of other stuff I'd long forgotten about and loved it all over again. Can't really beat a dirty squarewave bassline over some irratic amen breaks with strange movie samples for that old skool feel.

Of course, my love for newer stuff like Telemetrik does not in the least dilute my appreciation of the jungle.

    Not really into vocals.

But I'll see it and raise you another old skool fav from my C90 with a rolled up piece of rizla packet jammed into the tab holes : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmyiETnm6Mg

Old as it is now, I still can't get enough of End Credits and I don't usually go for vocals in D&B either.

Someone recommend me a Liquid Funk album that sounds like Utah Jazz's "It's A Jazz Thing". I've been listening to this album daily for a long, long time. It isn't getting boring, but I need MOAR.

Anybody checked out the Noisia Essential mix from earlier this month? It's a mix of electronic music styles although obviously they started out as a heavy D&B production outfit.

It's phenomenal, I recommend you get it :p

The new Spor EP is quality. As far as I know you can only get it (legally) at Beatport but it's well worth it.

    Hello everyone

I'm thinking of going to see LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad on Friday, haven't really been out in the past 10 years :). Good re-introduction to DnB or should I go somewhere else?

I'm just listening to some of my old stuff at the moment, mainly compilations (The Takeover Bid: Micky Finn and Aphrodite, ShyFX and some ancient essential mixes).

I have heard some stuff from this decade though, at least I like what i've heard in the latest Wipeouts :D.

Two hours of mostly mid 90s drum and bass from Gilles Peterson on Radio 1, who used to co-run the Talkin Loud label:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/urban/peterson

Its not even funny how much deeper, more varied, complex and just plain better d&b sounded back then, producers need bring it back!

Caught some of it the other night, listening to the rest of it now. Awesome stuff, really taking me back to how amazing dnb was.

I am liking this Klute mix

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

I think this is really good, and I want to get more in a similar vein (ofc, I'll chase up other tunes by the artist) but I know practically nothing about it, so what genre's it a part of, if any inside of d&b, please - any recommendations?

Liquid, mostly, bit of jumpup in there. Try Alix Perez & SubFocus for a start :)
