Apologies if there's already thread about it but searching for it was futile as usual.

    Any d&b fans on here?

Want to recommend me some of your favorite artists?

I've only ever had a passing interest in it but Technical Itch has rekindled my interest.

I still quite like a bit of D&B, but not what most people seem to be into.

Artists that I personally think are good for a look in are Amboss, Amon Tobin, Squarepusher, Shitmat, Dieselboy, For Great Justice, Dom & Roland and so forth, but mostly they're more glitchy than most people's tastes allow.

Only Dieselboy and Dom & Roland are really proper drum and bass out of those!

CDs that float my boat for listenablility:

    Andy C - Nightlife vol 4
Kryptic Minds & Leon Switch - Lost all Faith (Dirtbox you might like this)
Black Sun Empire - Driving Insane is a good one too.
    Dieselboy - the Dungeonmaster's Guide
DJ Friction - The next level volume 2
    Telemetrik - My Lightyear

Thats all pretty dark stuff tbh

On the lighter or at least more liquid side, you could try
Klute - No-one's listening any more (my favourite dnb album ever)
Breakage - This too Shall Pass
    Calibre - Overflow
Logistics - Now More than Ever
    D-Bridge - The Gemini Principle
    Teebee - The Legacy

If you were to only go for say, one from each, I'd get Dieselboy - the Dungeonmaster's Guide, and Klute - No-one's listening any more.

I know, but they're sub genres (noise, glitch and break core, although I'm trying to loosen up on the genre specification at the mo). Not big on the 'intelligent' branch, Kryptic Minds & Leon Switch slot in there although they're more Dillinjaesque. I prefer more breaky stuff. For Great Justice is definitely D&B as well though.

Here's some. Got a nice old skool aftertaste to it.

Buying huge tape packs just for the Ratty mix and a couple of 5 single sides to endlessly try to mix together and get bored to shit with. Rinse and repeat. That takes me back.

That Telemetrik album is the absolute bollocks!
Dirtbox - if you like glitchy stuff, have you listened to any Enduser? It can get pretty vicious, but it could be right up your street.

    /keeps listening to Telemetrik

check out drum and bass arena's web. you can set up a free account and download lots of free dj mixes and download albums etc quite cheaply, also check out myspace for dj zinc,dj krust, ed rush and optical, hospital records, shogun assassin they all have other d&b artists as friends and check out knowledge magazine they always have free mix cd's on the cover hope that helps

Yeah, he used to have a website and everything he wrote, he'd just put up for download. There were about 25 songs before the website vanished, so they're a bit hard to find now. That's not his best, there are quite a few crackers.

    /checks out Enduser

Pretty cool! don't think I've heard him before, not all his tunes are entirely my cuppa (like Amon Tobin, he's all over the place) but there are some great tracks to be had.

Yeah, I'll put in a vote for DOA (dogsonacid.com). Great website, with a brilliant forum for people trying to produce DnB themselves (the Grid).

Personally, I love Black Sun Empire, but also most of the people on Hospital records, the old skool Aphrodite and Mickey Finn stuff, Fanu (who is f*cking awesome), DJ Zinc, Ray Keith is brilliant, early Photek stuff is awesome, Breakage is good...

God, there are too many to mention! And all my vinyl is disorganised, so I'll have to go through it for further recommendations.
