Absolutely loved the 2 new episodes this week.

The bickering between Pam and Ryan, Vikram, Jim and Stringer Bell, Andy and Dwight - great suff.

Main reasons I prefer the US version:

    Creed (utter genius)
    Pam >>>>> Dawn
Dwight (and Jims pranks on Dwight) the one where they move his desk to the mens room ftw

Wow Stringer Bell in The Office wasn't expecting that.

Does anyone actually know the actor's name? To me he will always be Stringer Bell...

    Cracking actor BTW.

Are there 20 odd episodes a season with this?

Idris Elba. And he's British, funnily enough. So even more of a fantastic actor.

And yeah, these last 2 eps were great.

With the exceptions of season 1 (it was a mid season replacement for another show) and season 4 (shortened because of the strike), yes.

That's not a bad thing, though. There was a slight lull in the middle of 4 and the beginning of 5 but almost every episode is great. Even bad episodes of The Office are better than most comedies anyway.

Skip season 1 and go in at the start of season 2.

Er, don't do this. The worst episode they've ever done is the very first, it's a carbon copy of one of the British episodes. So skip that and leave it until the end when it wont ruin your opinion of the series as a whole. But ep 2 onwards is awesome, and if you jump straight into season 2 you'll miss all the plot and character building that comes before it.

Totally agree with Pear you have to watch season 1, it is the weakest season but it still has a lot of good Dwigt (oh I'm so clever) moments.

I'm half way through season 3 just now. I did start it with Paramount Comedy on Wednesdays nights but got annoyed by the pace and started watching them online.

The prank where Jim takes Andy's phone and put it in the ceiling, calling it up every so often, was utter brilliance and enough to make me go into tears of laughter :]

This is now officially one of my favourite shows. I very much enjoyed what I'd seen before, years ago, but I've spent the last couple of weeks watching the first 3 seasons. It's pretty much all I've watched recently. It's thoroughly excellent. The fleshing out of characters and their story lines is commendable. I love it.

Still no news on when the Season 4 DVD is coming out in the UK I take it?...

They better not be doing a King of the Hill and just thinking "Oh, that's not very popular over there so we won't bother releasing the DVD's".

Quick heads-up for anyone who likes this, have a look for Parks & Recreation. Same people producer it, style, etc. And it has Karen Filipeli from S3 in it. I'd start a new thread but there's not much point. NBC has already commisioned a second season for it too. Not as god as the Office, but it's still worth a watch.

Can't wait for the Office to return.

Well considering it's the best American comedy at the moment and now much better than the British version ever was... yes. You need to watch past Season 1 before the show reveals it's true genius.

Finished Season 3 last night, what an ending! :D

Massive lols at Jim telling Dwight he'd seen the flasher "above the sink in the women's bathroom"

That is great, one of my favourite episodes, Michael and Dwight are both on form.

So many fantastic moments in this show. Have you got to the episode where Jim dresses up as Dwight?
  • Deleted user 7 September 2009 15:28:01
Yeah, that happened in S3. :D

That was absolutely brilliant. And the work safety episode. I don't know how Darryl resisted hitting Michael during his warehouse presentation!
