    The excerpt speaks for itself:

"Jaw-dropping scenes show bodyguards snapping scantlings or crushing stone blocks with their bare hands, and they calmly endure being beaten with steel clubs. They even dodge a barrage of thrown daggers."

    Video here. Crazy stuff.

Looks a lot like a combination of buddhist monks and SEALs. Probably rather unpleasant fellows to face in a fisticuff.

Bodyguard: Don't go near Kim Jong. To deter you, watch me crush this stone block and beat myself with a steel club. Now, try to throw a dagger at me.

    Attacker: *bang*

Why does Kim Jong-Il look like a paedo from the 80's?

I loved the target shooting followed by a backflip.

I believe the validity of that video 100%. I mean, if we can't trust the North Korean government, then who can we trust???

No shortage of balsa wood and polystyrene bricks in the DPRK by the looks of things.

    This space left intentionally blank.

Kim Jong-il is obsessed with movies after all so it wouldn't surprose me if it was all a load of stunt men.

    Backflip was still cool though.

TBH I don't see why they'd cheat. Nothing in that vid I haven't seen buddhist monks do on National Geographic.

I hate it when they show that coreographed shit as proof of the toughness of some elite squad.

Given the right type of training, anyone can withstand the type of 'beating' they were taking, it's a joke.

Show me a video where the fearless leader pits one against the other in a fight to the death, then you'll see how tough they are (or not).

Would this be an unarmed fight, or perhaps involving some sort of... hammers?

They're probably also very good at detecting approaching storms, with all the internal scarring from breaking those blocks etc :)

Dodging daggers though - surely that's totally counterproductive if you're standing between Kim and the dagger thrower!
