Registered 6 years agoThe rest of TB is much heavier and more droney, but still very awesome. Killed the King.. is the respite
There're lovely sections all throughout, and some really incredible heavy stuff - as discussed earlier in this thread, the kind of heavy that is strangely euphoric. -

Registered 6 years agoLaughing Stock and the Spirit of Eden are usually referred to as those albums. They're not post-rock, but they're very, very, very good and very low-key, intricate and gorgeous. -

Registered 3 years agoIf you like your post-rock abit more ambient and "out there" then give <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP61k8iQADs&feature=related">Set Fire to Flames a listen. -

Registered 6 years agoThe intro to Rainbow on Spirit of Eden is incredible. The moment when guitar, harmonica and drums and piano finally all meet is absolutely exquisite.
Set Fire to Flames are very good - very eerie at times, quite a hard listen at points. -

Bass is brutal and dark? Check.
Guitar is doing all manner of crazy things? Check.
Dark and chugging but never relentlessly so, with cool little rocky bits and lighter moments? Check.

It was fucking great! Seen them 3 or 4 times now and it always amazes me what they can do. They're so fucking loud but I have no idea how they do it. It's so easy to pick out one instrument from the other.
