After my previous issues and the new speed dial, I've made the jump to chrome too.

We had a good run Opera :(

I listed a heap of extensions in the Chrome thread to make is as Opera-like as possible in terms of function.

horrible new views of webpages. I can't tell by the little previews now if the sites have been updated.

The way it zooms in on the logo is quite clever, but it looks rubbish. It cuts the rest of the page off, it's horrid.

I am probably the only one who likes the new SpeedDial.
    /does not switch to Chrome.

I'd give chrome a try but it doesn't import opera's bookmarks, so i can't be arsed.

Heh, I installed it, realised it wouldn't import bookmarks and can only have one account for the mail extension (unless I missed something) and gave up.

It does, Chris, but you have to export them from Opera first.

It adds an account for each one you log into. I've got three on mine.

Does it? Only seemed to have one running. Will have another play about. Quite like the look of it.

Hmm, only picks up the last one I log into. Must be missing an option or something, I'll check it out later.

I think the trick is to click the arrow next to your email address at the top right of the gmail page and select Sign into another account.

Assuming it is gmail, otherwise have your other mail to forward it to your gmail perhaps. No other way around it as it's a gmail checker.

Might also be a plan to move this conversation over to the chrome thread.

But does not Chrome keep all your personal data somewhere?
I at least remember some commotion about this when it first launched.
Convince me to switch to Chrome, guys.
(The only thing I don't like about Opera is its GUI. There is something cheap about it, since the days of the first Opera and I have not been able to find a single skin that would make me go " wow, now it looks awesome".)
Er, and one thing I hate about Chrome - I refuse to use the address box (or bar, or whatever they call it) for my searches, I defo NEED a separate box for that.
EDIT: Dammit I have to correct grammatical errors despite using Opera's spellchecker.

I'm not going to convince you a thing, if you're happy with Opera then use Opera. It's pretty subjective.

Ok. Any comments on my "Chrome vs user's privacy" remark?

The conspiracy nuts will probably tell you to avoid it, but more reasoned people will tell you that google already know what you had for lunch anyway, so who gives a shit. They don't relay every snippet of info about what you're doing back to the central plexus or anything if that's what you're saying.

Opera users have the highest IQs.

But we already knew that ;)

Is there any plug in or an addon that would let me open Opera with the same tabs that I closed it with, only across different PCs.

What I mean is if I have 5 tabs on my desktop and close it and move to my laptop, is there any way to launch Opera with those 5 tabs on my laptop.

Kind of like Cloud Web browsing.

    Valar morghulis.
