Tbh, I think il 2 is supposed to be the best. Warbirds was a subscription based, massively multiplayer flight sim.

Ftr, I was in an American squadron, over ten years ago now; we used to go on coordinated B17 bombing raids.

I was a fucking geek lol.

That sounds brilliant! How many players were involved?

They organised the game into four countries, distinctive by colour, you flew for either gold, purple, green or red.

The map was divided into airbases, and each airbase is owned by one of the countries.

You can take off from any airbase owned by your colour, and to capture an airbase you had to destroy with bombs all of the surrounding buildings, then land on the runway, at which point your country could launch from there. So it was territory expanding strategy.

The game attracted many real pilots; and the average age was very mature, so the interaction was very mature and respectful.

Noby Noby Boy, or rather I'm posting here with a rather pleasing little tune playing to a really bizarre screen saver on my big tv.
I'm a bit stoned, in a minute I'll start interacting with it again.

I really want to get up to the sun, but can't seem to manage it tonight.

Great that an oddity from 4 years ago can come along and float your boat. And I do love a nice indie game this time of year as an antidote for the usual AAA guff.

    Metro Last Light (PS3)
Enjoying this a lot so far and the lighting effect are brilliant in pitch black rooms.

    Splinter Cell Black List (Xbox360)
hmmm not as impressed with this as I thought I would be. Can be played like a traditional splinter cell game which is great but not when it feels and looks like another edition of conviction.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (360)

Crikey, a lot of games have screen tearing, but I'm always able to ignore it. This game takes screen tear to a different league though, I've never seen anything like it. It's a shame, as the underlying game seems fun, but the relentless tearing and unresponsive controls are making me nauseous.

I'm hopelessly addicted to Crusader Kings 2 at the moment. It's a lot of fun but painfully slow at times

Pretty much just hearthstone is the only thing keeping my attention at the moment. Not been able to find a single player game that has clicked with me for a long time sadly.

Finishing up the last single missions of Birds of Prey. Still loving it :)
Will be starting my first playthrough of Outlast tonight. Despite having read some negative impressions of fellow EG forum members, I'm cautiously optimistic...

    Pikmin 3

I've never played the originals, but I most certainly will after this. What a great game. It's like a dungeon-crawler and strategy game, combined, and has been immensely enjoyable. This game really suits the Wii remote well. The controls feel natural and precise when playing this way. The presentation is also top notch.

If you're ever interested in picking up a Wii U, do yourself a favour and buy this game!

    The Wheelman

This is brilliant. Second game in a fortnight that's felt to me like a lost Dreamcast gem. The handling is arcadey fun, allowing you to drive like a loon, enjoyable in-car shooty stunts, looks nice with a colourful and cheery city, blue skies, this game has it all. Well worth 4 in cex.

Had a go with the Stanley Parable, which was ok I suppose. Really could have done without that bloke talking throughout most of the game. It really didn't need it.

Finally got around to playing the Walking Dead Season 1 chapter 5, and enjoying it a lot so far :)

Nearly finished Serious Sam 3 and unsurprisingly it plays just like the earlier games only with prettier graphics :D Warrrrrrrrrrrr!

GTAV and blops2 with the missus! Yep. She actually wants to play blops2 with me! I'm still in shock and she is utterly shit with an average of 1/2 a kill per game and 20 odd deaths, but sometimes you just have to make sacrifices.

She only lasts for half an hour too before she gets dizzy!

@YenooR how are you finding The Witcher? I couldn't get along with it, the combat just felt awkward, shame really as it looks ace.

    Mass Effect 3.

    Gameplay: 10/10.

Story compared to other AAA games: 9/10.

    Story compared to ME1 & 2: 5/10.

    Such a disappointment.

    F. E. A. R. 3

People who have played it: does it get much better after the first mission?

So far, as someone who loved the first game, I've been unimpressed. The areas are cramped, the enemies stupid, and for some reason they've tried (and failed imo) to create a working cover mechanic.

On top of that, the story seems to have been lost in favour of a mandatory score attack mode. Why am I getting psychic readings from certain bodies? Because they give me points.

I might stick with it if the environments get a little less dull.

I prefered Fear 3 over Fear 2, but the first game is still the best. Things do get more interesting and varied but it isn't a great game. The games just aren't all that creepy anymore. The first Fear had plenty of great moments and lots of creeping about by yourself, whereas the later games seem more like arcade games if you get what I mean.

Yeah, that's what it seems like.

I think I'll just play something else. Maybe go back if I find a willing co-op partner.
