Currently playing GTA San Andreas. I always played those sorts of games when visiting a friend's house. I'd steal a car and cheat-code in all the weapons and see how many stars I can get before I'm thrown in jail. I was never really interested in the missions.|
Since GTA SA is dirt cheap on Steam (got it for 2 quid), thought I'd finally own a copy. 11 hours in and really enjoying it. It has a bit of a learning curve, but mission-wise, it does a good job of easing you into the game's world, and there's just so much to do. It hasn't aged well in terms of its graphics, but the voice-acting is great and it's all really well written, which can make you forget that everyone has woodblocks for hands.
Two things I don't quite like are the lack of save points (which I assume increases as you buy more properties) and having to restart missions from the hospital/police station with no resources, even though that's (I'm assuming) part of the formula for most GTA games. Also, I suppose another frustration is selecting items at a fast food restaurant or a gun/clothes store takes so long. It's such a hassle.
Overall, though, it's loads of fun. Looking forward to more!
