It's toward the big end - I think my last bill was 250 quid-ish, and that was over estimated. If they'd underestimated the previous, 300 quid is quite acheivable.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Blatantly not the cheapest though. Shhh. If I 'disappear' now, avenge me!

So now that British Gas are upping their prices next month who is currently the cheapest?
I know E-on usually do price protection things that cover you for 12 months or so.

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

Will January's bill be like 600+?

Yeah, it'll be a big one, that's for sure.

My heating bill for last winter was about 450 and that was for an average 1 bedroom apartment. :S

Right E:oN have reminded me that my current deal is ending next month and there new deal looks shit. Soooo, is there any point in switching from one supplier to another? E:oN have been alright for the past year. Is it more hassle than its worth or is it recommended to get the best deal?

Guess check out comparison sites like U Switch and see how much you can save. If it's not a whole lot then don't bother. And whatever you do, do not switch to British Gas.

It's pretty easy to switch, easier than I expected it would be anyway. Worth factoring in Quidco etc, some will give pretty good incentives to switch.

Anyone know if First Utility are any good? I feel like British Gas are assfucking me and First Utility look like being about 160 cheaper per year which isn't exactly chump change.

Also, has anyone else noticed that the energy companies are now putting cancellation charges into their tarrifs? Fucking disgusting. How the government has let them get away with that is beyond me. So much for just being able to always switch to the cheapest provider.

I couldn't tell you if they're any good but I'm in the process of switching to them from British Gas right now.

UK based call centre, competitively priced tariff, online account management and ability to pay by monthly variable direct debit are all good in my book.

Hmm, my fixed price deal comes to an end with Scottish Power in Jan. Just after the new price rises. Motherfuckers. Anyone know how soon you can look to switch? Would rather not be dumped onto their standard package and then be too lazy to sort it out, especially over winter.

British Gas still by far the cheapest for our house. 3 bed house, 450 pa. Everyone else seems way overpriced for the level of usage we have ;-/

Yeah, mine is about a grand or so. It's a draughty old place and my wife is a hot house flower. I'm in shorts and a t-shirt most of the time.
