I have a fairly large, round and firm lump just bellow my tooth. It is the tooth in which I need to get a root canal, but can't afford it right now. It doesn't hurt unless I prod it too much. What should I do? I don't want to pay 40 just so the dentist can tell me within 5 minutes that it will go away soon or just prescribe me some standard antibiotics. Any advice would be appreciated.

Abcess. If you don't get it looked at you'll probably save yourself some cash as you'll need to do 1 less root canal.

Sounds like an abscess. You need to go to a dentist, but don't worry, you'll get your money's worth.

Ignore it, and ignore all the sensationalist piss-takers here telling you to go waste your time and money on a dentist. It sounds completely normal and I guarantee it'll be fine in a couple of days.

Cover your eyes, grit your teeth and stick a needle in it. Kaboom!

It's not an abscess, it's Jesus Christ.

It's nothing. Leave it alone and wait a month and if it's still there just stick a needle in it.

Seriously, I had one of these a few years ago and the dentist wanted around 100 to fuck my mouth over. I decided to go to the doctor's and pretend I had an earache - the antibiotics took care of my tooth within days.

Abcess or mouth AIDS. A dog with a bad abcess will chew his own head off to try and relieve the pain. As a precautionary measure I'd get all the painkillers you can find, grind them up, and arrange in a big pile in front of you, and have a rolled up 20 note handy. I was swigging the children's Calpol last time I had one.

Go to a super dentist. I had the same thing a year or so ago and had to brave my 10 year dog shit induced absence from the dentists* to go have it looked at. Couple of x-rays later and it was just a bit of a baby tooth that'd wandered, not the smoking induced cancerous bulb i was expecting.

Oh and it didn't cost much at all and i went private and everything.

*i'll tell that sorry tale layta

    Plubs

It may be because I'm high but I actually laughed for a minute straight.

Edit: turns out I misread "swigging the children's Calpol" as "singing children's Carol". I had an image of DaM stumbling around, swigging rum and singing kids' songs.
    It's not as funny now.

Just ignore it, it's not like it's going to burst open and millions of baby spiders are going to pour out of it while you're asleep. That almost never happens.

Sounds like an abcess(?). It may not hurt now but if you don't get it seen to you will be smashing your head into walls to try and take your mind off the pain.

    FCUTA!
