If you disregard the source material that actually looks like it'll be a bit of enjoyable apocalyptic fun.

Pitt appears to have taken a rather large step down in the on-screen wife stakes, though.

Brad looks well cut. You can see how they've improved on the lame book.

Ignoring the source material it looks like the sort of shit that Roland Emmerich pumps out on a regular basis, they should have called it "2012 - now with zombies".

    This space left intentionally blank.

    It looks hideous

Would have loved a HBO mini-drama with maybe 3-4 story arcs

I haven't read the book, but that trailer looks like every Zombie/Apocalypse cliche from the last 10 years all rolled into one.

Way too much CGI - looks like a Resi cutscene. Also, Olympian zombies and Brad Pitt saving the world single-handedly.

Also, his wife looks like she might already be undead (twist?).

I think I will enjoy the film as long as I pretend it is called something other that World War Z. Something like, Pitt's zombies or Brad the zombie killer.

The zombies....are they on speed or something? Reminds me of all those beetles in the Mummy.

You guys clearly don't get it. The film's a metaphor.

The whole point of WWZ was the "looking at the bigger picture" of a zombie outbreak rather than individual conflicts. Portraying the war itself won't be a bad thing but it kind of misses the point

Angelina would probably rip his bollocks off if he chose a hot wife for himself.

The zombies are a metaphore though. Used to be about consumerism, then aids obv, death in general (slow lumbering inescapable) but now?

WTF are those things? Maybe the 2012 parallell isn't that bad after all. Are they climate change?

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Well, it may turn out to be not that bad in the end. Those could (I hope!) be early effects shots.

When the very first Iron Man trailer came out, the effects looked pretty bad. When the film came out they'd been completed.

As for the mad running zombies etc. it seems to me to be so OTT that it's comical.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

What's wrong with the effects? I thought it looked pretty good.

That trailer infuriates me and amazes me at the same time.

No way were they ever going to get that book into a 2.5hr film.

Looks like they have the Pitt story arc interweaved around little snippets of world outbreak/news scenes.

Looks like it could work, despite being marketed as 2012 with Zombies.

Either way I'm there with a big bucket of popcorn

It's a nice change for zombies, they aren't slow and while they are running, more of a swarm. You can sort of imagine being overrun that way more than anything else. Does look like your typical disaster movie but might be better than those at least. I think it might be okay.

First minute is Glasgow in the trailer.

It's another I Am Legend. Totally missing the point of the source material.

It's fine to do fast zombies / whatever, but not to completely fuck over the thing you're naming your film after.
  • Deleted user 9 November 2012 21:19:49
It's not fucking it over. It's using the source material in a different way for a different purpose. The source still exists and if this does well then who knows, maybe they;ll use that to make the TV series.

Yup pretty much, I still enjoyed I am Legend though and maybe this will make a fun action flick.
