I think there was a hint of it mentioned on one of the radio stations in Burnout Paradise.

I'm also gagging for a new SSX!

    Amen to that Brother!

When certain (mental) people say that SSX3 is(n't) better than SSX Tricky, I die a little bit inside.

SSX Blur was merely OK, nothing special but a full blown SSX game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 would be welcome.

It would probably be incredible, if a new SSX was announced.

Well call me mental then because it blatantly is better. Mind you, I bet you also think Burnout Paradise is shit too, don't you?

I really don't get it when people say that they prefer SSX Tricky to 3. 3's got everything Tricky has and more, with better tracks and a better soundtrack... with the exception of the obvious omission of Run DMC's track.

Like I say though (with the Burnout Paradise comment), it's probably the open world thing yeah? Some people just prefer a bit of obvious structure, I guess.

I had both Tricky and 3 on my beloved Gamecube, and I played Tricky far more. I loved it. 3 felt a bit sterile in comparison. I dunno. Tricky was insane, and I loved it.

I spent hours perfecting the most obscene high score route on the first run.

The SSX series is legitimatley one of the worse series of games I have ever played in my life.

However I would highly recommend Amped 3, you can pick it up on 360 for about a fiver now.

Hunt, you've never played any games at all then! ^^

Amped 3 is dirt cheap now yeah, and is good fun. The story/style is so exuberant and joyful that I half like it just for that.

The only SSX I ever played was SSX Blur since the N64 and GC were dominated by 1080. I thought SSX Blur was a lot of tun and I just love the bright and brilliant colors. A new one would indeed be welcome.

SSX blur unnecessarily complicated a totally adequate control system.

    SSX Blur was piss.

Such a shame as visually it wasn't that bad.

SSX on the PSP is actually quite good though.

It wasn't that great on the big boy consoles but it's not too bad on PSP.

Well it's number 1 in a field of 1. Can't think of any other snowbound games on PSP aside from Cool Boarders for PS1 and that really is poor.

i thought blur was really good, especially the carving with the nunchuck. can be hard to draw some of the ubermoves but after practise i was hitting most of them fairly easily.

The uber move drawing is hideously borked. Pretty much like any gesture system.

Concrete's right about Pure. It's very SSX like. Only on quadbikes. With no snow. Except on one level.

Glad I didn't get that in the end.

Curiously I always prefered to original SSX to the Tricky remake, great memories playing first the demo on launch night after feeling underwelmed by Ridge 5 and Tekken Tag, bagged it couple days after and played all weekend. Good times!

Bought SSX3 on Gamecube buit couldn't get into the controls, didn't feel intuitive to me, will need to find a PS2 second hand copy and give it another try.

Will they ever make another of these? I loved the first two games, they were really excellent arcade snowboarding games. The series was profitable, wasn't it? I've no idea why they haven't moved it to this generation of consoles.
