lol! Replaying RPGs is definitely not the way to burn through a backlog. :p

I'll vote for Assassin's Creed. Generally not very well liked, but a number of people on this forum loved it. Personally I thought it was quite good... certainly more good than bad, though with significant flaws that will hopefully be ironed out in the sequel.

I know I know but if it's not done they never get played. Specially with the tendency these days of at least 2 plays to complete the game properly. Have to say ES was much more enjoyable the second time through, not so much grinding required.

    You're finally done? Hallelujah! :-D

I'd vote for finishing Bioshock and then doing Assassin's Creed.

I thought it was pretty great. It's got its problems, for sure, but I had a great time with it. And it's not too long either.

Cool might try doing both then need a bit of a break from RPGs too.
Although I still have Knothole Island to play grrrrrr.

But just remember blize has shocking taste in games and doesn't know what he's talking about.

Believe me blizeH that is only the tip of the iceberg.

I also have Fallout 3 on my backlog but that is not getting played until I have finished one of the aforementioned games.

    Bart, play Assassin's Creed dammit.

Stranglehold. Not because your list is shocking (Too Human and Mass Effect are awful, awful games), but because it's decent fun and is easily finished within six hours, which will make your to play list shorter.
Mass Effect awful? Sorry but surely you mean awesome?
Can't comment on Too Human as I haven't played it. Have you?

No, I meant awful. And yes, I have played Too Human, I was quite enjoying it by the end of the short first level and didn't understand the hate. By the end of the first half of the second, year-long level, I wanted to kill everyone in the world, such was its offensiveness.

    Mass Effect what? o_0
  • Deleted user 11 March 2009 10:17:43
I'll give you Too human but Blue Dragon and Lost planet are decent. Stranglewank is a pile of wank.

I'd say play assassin's creed until you get bored of it, which will probably happen since the entire game involves repeating the same crappy missions over and over again,
Hey I love JRPGs not a problem ;)

then play Blue Dragon which is pretty decent, though it is a very typical JRPG in many respects. Then maybe Mass Effect as it's a really good concept but has been badly executed with a fairly limited world size, crap weapon selection and awful side quests, but the main quest mission is good and the gameplay is fun and reasonably challenging.
Blue Dragon is very tempting but I think I may need a break from grinding for a bit. On my second play through of ME (all kinds of awesome imo)

I still not even opened Stranglehold. Didn't it get decent reviews?
  • Deleted user 11 March 2009 10:23:07
It's good for the first few missions until it defaults to mega re-spawning and levels that show the controls up.
  • Deleted user 11 March 2009 10:26:30
Depends what you want out of an RPG. It's the only really traditional RPG even from that list for instance.

I'd much rather play some of them than Blue Dragon but it's still a decent game.

Cheers for the recommendations for Assassin's Creed really enjoying it so far.

Have a funny feeling collecting the flags and killin the Templars is going to be something along the lines of Crackdown. i.e. fucking annoying.

    Anyhew great game so far.

Much worse than Crackdown in that respect (collecting flags) actually, as they don't help you at all, as opposed to increasing your agility in Crackdown.

You really don't have to bother unless you're really into achievements.

Achievements are all part of the fun.

As for Crackdown have all the hidden orbs but am missing 2 agility orbs. Now that is a pain in the nads and had maxed out agility well before the last boss.

I got at least ten games on my shrink wrapped pile and another few games I bought used but never touched, too.

Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon were on it and I never touched them as I knew they would take up too much time. Then at some point, I checked which of my games would support Japanese and this made me put LO into the drive and now it's three months later... and that wasn't good for the pile either. ;)

I enjoyed Assasin's Creed, it was a bit repetitive but I find most games are anyway. Some of the scenery is fabulous.
