    Not these days. Most people have it back in a couple of weeks.

    Just sent both of mine in a few weeks ago - both done and dusted in 9 days at no cost.

    All 360's are covered for 3 RROD until 31st December 2008 regardless.

    I've been tracking my 360, and according to UPS and the tracking number, it was in frankfurt for 2 hours before being shipped back out again...now in tamworth..
    If i get this back on Monday, it will surely be a new record as i only sent this out on the 22nd oct...

    Anyone know the current repair time? I sent mine off on Monday, when do you reckon I can expect it back?
    Mid next week i'd imagine. Mine took 10 days total, that seems to be the normal timescale nowadays.

    Benno wrote:It's great timing actually, better it buckle now (while it's still 3 weeks in warranty) than it fuck up next month.
    Exactly how i felt when my launch model gave up the ghost in August. Course, it happening at the beginning of the biggest 3 weeks of the gaming year is a bit of a pisser still, but rather that than a 60 quid bill in the near future.

    HD version?

    All the versions are HD.

    Last night, the dvd drive in my 360 was making noises like a 747 on take off... The Fable menus were sputtering and unresponsive. This morning I tried to fire up the game and "Disk unreadable"... Tried another game... same message. FUCK!

    Call support, and discover that only RROD is covered by the 3 year extended warrenty. After a good ole rant with a supervisor, I got the repair costs down to $50, extended year of warranty on the replacement and free gold live subscription.

    /waits for shipping box... grrrrrrr

    Nope - kill it by making it overheat. No chance I'm paying for a 360 repair unless I cause it.

    @bigo

    All 360s have HDMI, and have for well over a year now

    Last time I sent mine in they sent my own console back to me repaired. That was over a year ago though (and they did a good job to be fair, as it's been fine, if noisy, since).

    Yeah, you'll get yours back with a new motherboard or a refurb model. They won't send out an HDMI model to replace a non HDMI one.

    Mine'll have the second one soon - the dash is glitching (images flash up every so often, like when the GPU went last year)...

    Out of interest, did anyone else's 360 make random 'PC Beep' noises in the build up to it's imminent death?

    My launch model went back about a month ago on a RRoD. Got a new one back (non-HDMI). Sold it to Game (bought a new Elite whilst it was away) so it didn't work out too costly in the end.

    The new Elite is not much quieter (wasn't expecting it to be) but I am looking forward to the dash update next month and being able to have the space to burn some games to the larger HDD for added convenience.

    Mine bricked it on Wednesday during the loading of Lost Odyssey. They've got wonderful timing, I almost wonder if there's an evil little man (probably Bill Gates) sitting in an office, remotely detonating 360's at random. The bastard.

    You think that's bad? Bought fifa 09 on launch day. Took it home and loaded up the first game: Scotland v England naturally. Scored my first goal, and as it loads up the reply it freezes. the rrods ;_;.

    The place in Frankfurt has my console just now, so hopefully I'll have it back by Freitag.

    Same here. This time I have the E74 error, which unfortunately does not get covered by the three year warranty. But thanks to a basic admin error on the part of Microsoft, they weren't too sure of when I bought my console and my 1 year warranty expires on 1/12/08. A whole 14 months after I bought the console.

    Result.

    I feel your pain, courier guys are coming round tomorrow to pick up the xbox (depot near me closed otherwise would have taken it there) and from then it should be around 2 weeks, hopefully less. So I guess when it comes back I will have two brand new games I have yet to play: Far Cry 2 and Call of Duty: World at War.

    Mine went on Sunday morning whilst playing Fabe II....aaaarrghhh! It made a funny beeping sound and then the game froze, I restarted it and the dreaded RROD appeared. Words do not explain how gutted I was. UPS picked it up yesterday and hopefully I will have it back in a couple of weeks.

    Anyone have any ideas why we don't have a repair centre in the UK? Mine is on its way to Germany to be repaired.

    How long did it take you guys to get the 360 after MS has sent you the email saying it's on it's way back? I got the message on Monday, but when I look at UPS' tracking info it still says it's in Frankfurt. Chances are I'm not going to get it back by Friday now ;_;
