I think the first half of season 4 is still very strong, and the smaller story arcs work really well as they tell a strong story without the need to keep fitting in filler episodes like they did in season 3. Season 4 did feel incredibly rushed right at the end though.

I kind of got the feeling Trip leaving Enterprise and the Columbia in general were going to made a much bigger story line but that must have been written around the time they told the show wasn't being picked up again, so had to hastily return him to Enterprise in order to finish off the season.

Lots of cool things would have been put in had it survived to season 5.

For example the ship would have been made to look like this:

As well as Shran joining the crew and a few other things that I can't quite nail. I assume T'Pol would have continued to look progressively rougher as the episodes stretched on as well.

Yeah, it looked like they were building up to showing a single tear rolling down her cheek at some point in time... but never quite got there.

Her mirror universe version had a lot more going on though...

She was hot in the beginning, then went steadily downhill thereafter. She quite literally aged 10 years in 3.

General Grin's TNG edits are back on youtube!!! He's improved them too, all tons of new footage! Just watched the first episode. It's really funny, especially for someone that's knows the source material very well.

    "Major Grin:
yes you should rewatch all of them since I'm adding a lot of new stuff in some of them. I'm also changing the order of many of them for the continuity to flow better. I should complete the entire reupload in about 2 weeks."

I love his stuff. I just sat one night and watched every single one, and it looks like I shall be doing so once again :) I especially love the first bit in Recut 6.

I'll probably start downloading them too so no bastard can whine about it again and get them taken down, given I'm sure they're counted as parodies so covered under Fair Use (probably wrong there, but it's not like it'll hurt Star Trek DVD sales or anything!).

Did it not also have some fancy new cloaking device?

A bit hit and miss too despite all that firepower. It crippled both Romulan ships with ease and yet couldn't quite nail the Enterprise that was more badly damaged and still put up a much stiffer fight.

Pah they're not that impressive, I've blown up lots of them in STO. In a group, trying to solo one of those is a bit hard, with it cloaking all the bloody time.

    @Whizzo

You can make this complaint about everything. Not once in any series did they just seal the doors and flood the coridors with chlorine gas, they just sent a security team down to hide behind conveniently sized bulkheads to take potshots at the invaders.

No stun grenades, no armour, just nylon uniforms and a slow ass hand phaser.

Sorry for the late bump, is DS9 in HD like TNG is on Syfy?
  • Deleted user 6 March 2013 18:12:51
I don't have the hd package so not sure. Its not coming up as hd in the info and not hilighted as hd in my planner.

    So i don't think so.

next series on Blu-ray is Enterprise since it was filmed in HD, they'll probaby start work on the HD remaster for DS9 when they're finished with TNG.

No doubt they want to resell all Trek given the amount of DVD boxsets they've come out with over the years so it's highly likely DS9 will get the HD/blu treatment eventually. The whole lot won't be priced reasonably until 2050 I reckon but they'll come.
