I was interested until I saw Neelix was involved :(

I don't really get the hate for Neelix, he made a great duo with Tuvok and carried one of the best performances I've seen in Trek in one of the early Voyager episodes. Jetrel I think.

I can't stand him. Never could. He was the reason Voyager never clicked for me.

    Heh that is commitment!

Anyway I just watched TNG Night Terrors which is a solid episode, ruined by one thing, fucking Guinan and that horrible golden gun from Magus III. Awful.

The only thing good about that episode is Marina Sirtis' arse

You know I really tried to lust after Marina Sirtis but I just could never manage it. She is not even remotely sexy even if you squint. TNG was actually pretty lacking on the women front. Vash is probably the front runner possibly followed by Ensign Ro

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder mate :p The main cast was a bit lacking I'll give you that, Marina is alright, I just liked her curves back then, Michelle Forbes was quite pretty back then, I had the good fortune of meeting her earlier this year at a convention, Jennifer Hedrick (Vash) is a little skinny and wrinkly for my tastes, same goes for Cheryl McFadden (Crusher) but she had her sexy moments.
For me the bit parts had the sexiest charaters, Teri Hatcher playing a transportor assistant, Lycia Naff playing enginnering Ensign Gomez, the one that spills hot chocolate on Picard in Q Who, hell I even found that androgynous alien that Riker fell in love with pretty, also the sexy ladies on Risa. Man... Risa... that place was like heaven to a teenage frustrated me ^_^

I am convinced Beverly Crusher was a man, that jawline, those features the shoulders... Eek.

Tasha Yar's sister was tasty for her brief appearance.

You're forgetting Tasha Yarr's sister and the empathic one that had a thing for Picard's voice.

I think even the hot women in TNG tend to look bad. I think it's the 80's hair. I mean Famke Janssen is lovely but in that shot she looks nowhere near as good as she normally does. Same for Terri Hatcher.

Syfy have TNG HD if anyone is interested. Weeknights at 7pm. Only found out randomly today and they are already up to episode 11 but should be worth a look in lovely HD.

Looking forward to it a lot as simply the next Star Trek film in the rebooted series, but really didn't love the trailer. Another "Earth is in danger" plot? Those plots are generally fantastic in sci-fi but only when done once. Now it seems both of the first two movies revolve around this, which seems a bit boring and tired.

None the less, I'll eagerly await this.

Got the Voyager box set for christmas so trying to finish up DS9 to make a start on it.

Just done some calculations that scare me:

    I've watched this year:
79 episodes of The Original Series + 1 pilot
22 episodes of The Animated Series
178 episodes of The Next Generation
100 episodes of Deep Space Nine

    That's 279 episodes. 205 hours.

    I still have:
79 episodes of Deep Space Nine
    172 episodes of Voyager
on my shelf. That's 182 hours. Not to mention the movies and I need to pick up Enterprise.

Scary when put like that how much time star Trek has stolen from my year. Even scarier is that I am still loving it and have not got bored yet.

Having blown up many Tholian and Mirror Universe ships in STO recently I thought it was about time I rewatched "In a Mirror, Darkly" the two parter from Enterprise.

Really enjoyed it, obviously this was when Manny Coto was in charge.

It's a tragedy that Enterprise was cancelled just as soon as it was getting into it's stride and fucking Voyager went all the way to seven seasons without a hitch.

    FUCK YOU BRAGA YOU CUNT!

Interview with Lindelof here about the new film.

I can't agree with his thoughts on Nero. I'd have preferred the scenes with him in prison to be part of the film as it just seems odd to me that he was floating about for years. I hope Sherlock is more fleshed out.
Also interesting to read that Vulcan's destruction is tied into the plot. I'm betting that we see Spock Prime again in some form being as he is still acting.

I was knocking about in forbidden planet today and it really struck me how badly served the Trek fanbase is when it comes to toys and nick knacks. They had almost no trek stuff. Just a pizza cutter, a fluffy enterprise (which was cool) and some terrible looking action figures. They had tons of cool Star Wars and Dr Who junk, though :(

So Enterprise wasn't all that bad was it?

Just got through watching it all as I'd never really bothered with the series much after watching most of Season 1 and 2 when it used to be on T4.

For all the hate the series seems to get... I actually think they were well on their way to matching DS9 in terms of mature, dark and grounded story lines, where as Voyager just constantly went in the other direction and tried to be the next Next Generation a lot of the time, but failed. I mean what other Captain basically turned into a pirate and launched a raid on another ship before stranding them in space?

And if they hadn't been rushed to fit in the foundations of the Federation I think they could have built a really interesting storyline over the next few seasons that could have shown a stronger alliance forming between the alien races.

Sure Enterprise had a few ropey episodes, but I genuinely think each of the four season's holds up better to most of Voyager's output over it's seven year run.

It's ace. The last season lets it down in horrific ways due to last minute re-writes after being told they couldn't create a planned story arc due to not being able to finish it, but the first three seasons are easily the best opening seasons of any series of Trek that has been before it.
