So breaking bad has nothing to do with starting and maintaining a business empire?
No one has said that. But to pretend there is anything more to it than that, or to be precise, that it is an intricate study on empire building is the height of stupidity and is absolutely shoe horning in an article before the hype dies.
That's not what the article says it is but carry on. Although it does say it's one of the studies of business dynamics which is hyperbole.

The rest of the article is fine though.

    Oh well

    Haters gonna hate.

Did we have the El Paso video edit fan thing yet? (of the last episode, suing the song that is playing in the snow car)

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

    I haven't used a shoehorn for ages.

/looks around at the blank non-plussed faces

    What?

It's a topical and personal contribution to this conversation you cunnies.

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

The wife turned round to me at the start of the week and said "what's this breaking bad I hear everyone talking about?".

She usually watches absolute shite, I'm talking like kardashians et al.

Anywho we have blitzed season 1 this week and she loves it. And I'm loving watching it all again.

Incidentally I watched the finale again last weekend and it really got better for me on a second viewing, so many little touches.

The classical music reaching its crescendo as Elliot lifts that little knife to Walt.
The mastery of the cinematics, particularly with Walt obscured by the pillar in Skylers new house.
And Jesse's flashback, oh god, tears. his face when he is yanked back to reality by his leash. You can feel his pain.

    Love it.

    Goat is hungry.....

Ha, I wasn't aware Cranston had done so many adverts prior to Seinfeld/Malcolm etc, that video at the bottom of the Hopkins article is hilarious. I

Phew, finally finished my rewatch of 1 to 4 and did my first watch of the final series (both halves as I wanted to save the first for when the 2nd came along), took a while to rewatch but did 5 over the weekend and me and the Mrs watched the last 4 tonight just brilliant and sad poor Hank :(.....and now it's over and I already miss the greatest TV show ever made, got withdrawal like a methhead and it's only been an hour!

I have to say I did think the ending was a little flat, almost rushed, and felt the show deserved something better. After such a good build up (and the general thrill ride of the show) the ending just felt very subdued. Only a minor niggle though, other than that a great last series that was quite a ride and I still loved it.

How long must one wait for the 3rd watch without seeming like an obsessive nut I wonder? Hopefully the blu boxset will come my way Christmas that'll give me a good reason in 6 weeks

I thought the final episode was great. Beautifully written and shot as always, and I was relieved that everything was tied up with no loose ends. If only more shows ended in the same way. It reminded me of a great novel or play, as in it was wrapped up neatly with a start, middle and end. Thank Christ they didn't end it like Lost.

I thought the episode was great don't get me wrong just the ending of the episode felt off to me seemed just rushed a bit. Could be I wanted more closure for Jessie and Walt they had grown so apart and especially given that the last time he saw Jessie he told him about Jane.

Edit - should spoiler that for further late comers!

It was satisfying, but I would have respected it more of it had done something that we weren't all expecting. There were no surprises there.

And I didn't like being pushed into Team Walt.

Not true. We never find out if Huell ever got to leave that room. Also Walt Jr. never let out that sneeze he's been holding in for all five series!

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

Anyone seen Talking Bad? I found it on Netflix, probably better watching each one after each of the final episodes but still it's an interesting "companion" show with a few insights into the characters and their actions and star fan service, Samuel L. Jackson was on one dressed as Heisenberg and wearing a BB T-shirt

Also, WTF! How come you can't buy a soundtrack for the whole show? BB has such an amazing soundtrack that is just a crime. Needs sorting in the shape of a nice CD boxset, until then though thank the lord for...other means, been humming El Paso all day :)

Been watching more Talking Bad and it's funny how things work out. The excellence of Mike only came about because Saul was originally to clean up after Jane but Odenkirk couldn't do the shoot.

The crew seemed to love him as much as I do to, they all wore armbands on his last shoot :)
