Seeing as the economy is probably going tits up, happens every now and then. I thought I'd create a thread for all of us that fear for their jobs.

You can tell us that you fear for your job and if worse comes to worse you can make yourself feel slightly better by telling us you saw it coming.

I'll start: I fear for my job, 1, because I am bored senseless 2, I've become even more of a lazy arsehole and 3, cause the company already went bust once this year.

I fear for my job if and when my boss realises I spend about five hours of my eight hour shifts on the internet. I have received reprimands for it in my last two jobs, but I can't help it - I'm basically addicted.

    And work is boring.

How does that work then? How come you're still going if you've already gone bust?

Well the success of my current job relies on the boss selling his last development of 16 flats so we can stock up the shop....ummm, may well be posting back in this one soon!

I fear for my job because the bulk of our work comes from a major high street retailer who are struggling at the moment. Don't think they'll go bust or owt but you never know...

    Woolies?

Nah. Rhymes with vomit. Don't say it though as walls have ears.

What. You don't get rent paid. Or Council tax.

    Do you?

I've had to reapply for mine as the idiots there said I missed an interview that I knew nothing about and had it cancelled.

Except that the rent doesn't cover all of what you have to pay.

It depends on the local reference rent, they have max rents they will pay for each size of property, if yours is over this, you have to pay the difference, or move.

Councils are fucks as it is anyway. Unless you're a no-good, lazy, pregnant, chav low-life, you won't get help.

Except that the rent I was paying was the going rate for a private studio flat, so cheaper accomodation wasn't an option. And this was many years ago, maybe they're a bit more generous now.

Underneath the age of 25, the government only allow a housing benefit of 50 a week. Throw JSA on top and tell me if you could live off that.
