Not much in the way of detail yet - linky, but it's a bit smaller.

the camera apparently is 0.3 megapixels.

Nintendo really need to stop with the high tech stuff.

I'm sure that link says it's 3 megapixel.

edit: And the EG front page says 3mp too.

    Official Site

    I'm a bit disappointed really...
It just seems to be a pretty minor upgrade.

OK, on kotaku they say it's only one camera.
But wtf is that black dot? It is clearly labelled on the Japanese site. But it's all in Japanese so I dont know what it says.

    Any Japanese reading EGers on-line?

    Jin?

I think the biggest upgrade is that it'll snuff out those pirate cards.

It looks a lot more like the DS Lite than I thought it would.

    It's uglier though.
Did you see the side by side comparison where you can drag them around on the site? THe last tab on the right.

And on the bottom right it says something about DSLite and DSi.
Click it and there is an image split down the middle. Drag the DS around.

    Cheers.

Looks great, wouldn't say it looks uglier than the Lite, they look so similar.

What's wrong with this thread? Just retitle it?

Anyway, utterly pointless upgrade if you ask me. Okay if you've not got a DS Lite, but the loss of the GBA slot to add a camera (whyyy does anyone need a camera on their DSLite?) and slightly bigger screens that surely will just accentuate the low resolution of the graphics?

    DSiWare is quite exciting actually.
The rest dosen't make me won't to buy a new one, then again that is good at this point.

There will almost certainly be a way around whatever hardware tricks have been built in to disable current M3/R4 cards - either new types of card or something else that uses the SD slot.
  • Deleted user 2 October 2008 08:24:27
    From the GoNintendo blog:

    - 12%, 2.6 millimeters lighter, no more GBA slot

    - bigger screens, better speakers, two cameras

    - screens are 3.25 inches

    - camera and audio functions

    - only one touch screen (IGN info is false)

    - pictures taken should be able to be manipulated via touch screens

    - pitch and sound playback speed can be adjusted

    - SD card slot

    - store then view pics on Wii Photo Channel

    - internal memory for apps

    - built-in web browser

    - download DSi Ware with Nintendo Points (Wii points renamed

    - apps will cost free/200/500/800 points.

    - download via the Nintendo DSi Shop.

    - owners that connect by March, 2010 will receive 1000 Points as a gift. (Japan)

    - Hits Japan on Nov 1st for 18900 yen…2009 release for rest of the world

    - DS Station will go into its second phase, becoming the Nintendo Zone service.

    - service once again available at McDonalds

    - Nintendo Zone Viewer included, no setup needed

    - colors: white and frosted black

    Still only one touch screen?

Don't see the point, it's an alternative rather than an improvement. I'll stick to my DS Lite.

LB, you really are a massive geek.
