Do you dip before it's dry then or wait until after? I'm a bit confused as to what it is supposed to do. Any tips are good for me though, as my painting is woeful.

Paint the basecoat, wait for it to dry, grasp the rim of the base in some pliars, submerge the model in the tin of varnish, take it out and flick the excess off by waving the model about, model finished.

Don't expect it to look like it does in the magazines though.

Oooh, that's kinda cool. Makes them look miles better. Will give that a go I think.

I read the first 5 or so and then got fed up of reading the same sodding story through the eyes of the 1000th different character. Once someone tells me they've actually moved it on I might go back.

I know what you mean. I kept on going because I was in hope the story would progress but its slow going.

This one seems to be on track to get the ball rolling again though.

I converted a little cheap Wall-e toy into a Grot robot tank thing

    chop off the arms
    chop off the head
    add a pilot
add a orky face to the front with plastic card
glue on random guns, a chainsaw axe other bits
    paint

    WAAAGGHHLL-e!

Seriously? Space Marine? Somebody in their marketing department needs a holiday.

Don't see why. For the Warhammer fans, it's pretty much the perfect title.

(ps slightly off topic - before I bother purchasing it, can anyone tell me if Goblin Doom Divers are in Warhammer Battle March? Failing that Squig Herders/Hoppers? I will recreate my army from the days of my youth if so).

Calling it anything else would have been a bit weird.

Squig Herders confirmed, but no doom divers, unfortunately.

On the subject of Warhammer 40k figures, this thread got me thinking about my collection from the early 90s, so I've found them (most assembled but none painted) and I was wondering, would people be interested if I listed my collection of Eldar and Imperial Guard figures, Epic 40k and Hero Quest boardgames as well as a Warhammer Skaven Doomwheel in the June sale/swapsies thread?

Ok the_dudefather, I'll have em up by tomorrow night, I have the codec guides for both Imperial Guard and Eldar so I will use the catalogues in the back of them to list the figurines.

The PC is dying though, not enough numbers dont you know. Everyone should just pack up now and move towards a console future where everything is controlled and we play games P2P and fucking like it.

Are there any petition sites that track your IP? Motivated people could still work around it obviously, but it'd probably stop quite a few of the tards who might sign a petition more than once, contributing to the main reason they're ignored.

Up to now Space Marine was only to be released on the PS3 and 360.

Good news for you PC gamers, as it has just been announced that it will also be available on the PC too. :D

That's all the info I have at the moment but I will keep you informed.

You clearly don't know what warhammer 40,000 is then?

Looks good. Just a shame everyone is going to call it a GoW clone and that's what most reviews are going to compare it too whether we like it or not.

Still think Warhammer 40,000 would have made a better MMO than Age of Reckoning which is just WoW at the end of the day.

But it should have come out first! Age of Reckoning was fun, but we'd seen it all before.

The graphics look really nice, it'll be fun to see all that smoke and sparks with proper space marines. The melee combat looks generic though. Arkham Asylum has ruined me.

Was this the one that had that video released of an Ultramarine Captain facing off in slow-mo one-on-one combat versus an Ork? That looked great. This looks busy, I guess. That's a plus. Other than that, it has a long way to go before I'm convinced it's worth getting.

Really looking forward to this.DOW2 was my first taste of the 40k Universe and have played that a lot.
There's a lot of literature out there, any pointers of a good start point?

I wish they were doing something more interesting with the universe than Generic Space Marine original vs. brainless orks with gunz and shyte, but it might be decent, and if it makes a bit of cash hopefully next time around they pick more interesting races.

Not that I'm a (mega) geek or anything, but I'd recommend pretty much anything by Dan Abnett (Eisenhorn trilogy or Gaunt's Ghosts for preference). His novels are the final, clinging remnant of my Games Workshop days and are well worth a read.

I am decidedly meh about this.

The story will be like Dan Abnett, i.e. bad, the fluff will be post 3rd edition, i.e. written for 12 year olds with far too much cash and the shop tie ins will be shameless.

I want a game based on Inquisitor and the 2nd edition fluff/Ian Watson novels. The ones where Space Marines are more how they were originally written. Inter-galactic mass murdering fascist gits in amazingly cool armour, sort of like Starship Troopers or Judge Dredd.

Also since when were the Titan Legions renamed the Collegia Titanica, I really wish they'd check their pig latin better.
