    So if curry is at 730 are you meeting outside the expo earlier?

    I'd assume 1930 is the meetup time, outside the expo. It can't be the time the table's booked for since we haven't decided on a venue yet, let alone booked anything.

    I thought most the curry houses on brick lane were open till 2/3am and anyway, I thought most ppl would be drinking all day anyway. I know I will. ^_^

    There's a curry place near Waterloo on the southbank, but they're usually quite busy on a Friday night. You need numbers and to make a booking. Otherwise good luck to you. You guys might be better off jumping on the tube and going into piccadilly circus as there are a couple of very decent curry houses just a couple of mins from the station towards shaftsbury avenue. Also plenty of late night drinking! ^_^

    Is that Bangalore? That is indeed a great eatery, plus lots of bars round Waterloo and easy access for those travelling home.

    Curry houses are a bit sporadic around Monument

    But we're close to the Tube station if people are willing to travel :)

    Suggestions of curry houses within reasonable distance/travel time from the Expo would be welcome.

    Mal recommended a pub in the Expo thread that might be a good place to meet as last year we got rained on while waiting for stragglers :(

    There's the Thames Tandoori under the railway bridges, up from the Bangalore which is one of my favourite indian restaurants in London (though I've got a few favourites, depending on where I am). Then there's the Bangalore which I've never eaten in after some pretty bad reports of the place when it first opened, though I've heard better things about it recently. And there's the Southband Tandoori just round the corner which is perhaps more our style - cheap and cheerful, and the most likely to be able to seat a bunch of us who turn up unannounced.

    However, none of these places are really within strolling distance of the venue - it's a good 20 minutes to any of them I reckon, so it'd make sense to get the tube - and if we're getting on the tube, we could go anywhere. So I don't see any reason why we should look in Waterloo personally - though I suppose it is handy for catching the last train down south at 1:10am (for catching the nightbus after that time though, it's doable but you're better off north of the river)

    You assume correct. It's scheduled to rain this weekend and no one likes the rain, we're scheduled to meet there at 19:30 thou I'm sure some people will be there earlier :)

    Curry club is on Friday, at 7:30pm, though there's nothing stopping you having an unaffiliated curry on the Saturday.

    Secondly, there will probably be forumers in the Walrus throughout the day, dipping in and out of the expo. Wrist-bands mean you don't have to stay in the expo all day.

    Will post-curry drinks be in the Walrus on Friday as well? I'm likely to be unable to check EG after 4pm Friday so it'll be useful to have a fallback option should the venue not be set by then.

    I suspect not, since there aren't any decent curry houses we know of near the Walrus - though it depends how many people aren't curry clubbing and want to carry on drinking there. Otherwise, we'll probably end up finding somewhere nearer the curry house.
