Chrome's rapidly becoming quite shit for me. Even with just one tab open it seems to eat a whole fucktonne of memory. Even IE11 seems to run smoother and faster.

Is it actually running slowly? In performance terms, using a lot of memory is advantageous.

Yeah, it's sluggish all around, and that's just with adblock and ghostery enabled.

It's really hampering my daily schedule of idly flicking through Buzzfeed and Huff Post.

Seems they've fixed the problem with Chrome preventing Windows shutdown. Good good.

Same experience for me, which is why I ditched it a couple of months back and went back to Firefox after 18 months or so of using solely Chrome. Firefox is so much better than it was at the time I initially switched to Chrome, and still has a far better range of add-ons (I missed DownThemAll and NoScript especially).

It's only the interface I'd really miss. Chrome really got the UI pretty damn nailed on for my liking.

It was making the chromebook experience awful. Now using it on another significantly more powerful computer and it is just as shit. Shame you've got no choice when it comes to the chromebook.

I do find the half loaded pages on the forum when scrolling down quickly, with that chequered filler popping in all over the place, mildly annoying. That's about it.

Can't say I've had much of a problem with it. Maybe you're just all fat.

Mozilla are completely ripping it off anyway for their upcoming redesign of Firefox's UI:

I'd rather every browser didn't look near-identical, personally. Hopefully they'll at least make it just as customisable as the current one. The completely locked-down UI was another thing that always bugged me about Chrome.

The thing is, that converging UI is natural. People want less clutter when browsing (minimalist) and people want a quiet, clean interface (smooth grey). To achieve both of those and still offer tabs, necessity buttons and a URL bar offers little in the way of variation.

Got a slight issue with Chrome at the moment, on Windows 7. Basically my taskbar is set to auto-hide, but Chrome blocks it from reappearing, unless I set the taskbar to auto-hide agan. Bit annoying as I have to do this every time i start Chrome up.

    Anyone come across this?

(Didn't find much help via Google so thought I'd ask you nerds)

Oh, that's a problem I've been having lately and didn't link it to Chrome at all. My taskbar would not reappear unless I pressed the windows key. Very annoying, I put up with it for weeks but just switched off the auto-hide. So it was Chrome all along then? That makes sense now.

Thinking of switching back to FF myself too, Chrome is not as smooth as it once was for me. Netflix and other heavy sites are much smoother to scroll on FF in a brief test I did the other day.

This extension that auto converts currency could be useful for some, I installed it because the Humblle store doesn't seem to have currency options.

As for that auto-hide issue, I've been having that too (although not as badly). Are you sure it's chrome?

Got a problem with YouTube and Chrome. It only started recently, but for most videos I simply get a black screen (but I can hear the audio). The same thing has always happened with Vine videos as well, but the YouTube fault is more of a nuisance.

Tried clearing the cache and that, did nothing. Any other ideas?

I use Speed Dial 2 (and Ghostery and Vanilla Cookie Manager) to make Chrome less annoying.

Turn off Ghost Ranking in Ghostery, it's literally spyware.

Yeah I've never had that on, I use Ghostery mainly for getting rid of random annoying stuff like Outbrain (which it seems EG still uses..) and some Ad-blocking.

One of the Dark Souls wikis did that for me. Literally no other website, so I blamed the website.

Arrived at work this morning and my google Chrome has lost it's theme, any apps that I had in the apps tab as well as all my extensions & extra dictionaries for spell checking. Bookmarks are still there.

Odd. I'm assuming I need to go and set it all up again?

Strange. On the first tab it opens in chrome, I was signed into google+ (said my name top right instead of you+ when you're not signed in).

When I opened a new tab for the chrome app store to get my extensions, it said I wasn't singed into Chrome.

It re-synched everything once I signed in there.

Wasted all of 5 minutes on google and rooting around my C drive for the user profile for nothing.

Is Windows 8 mode for Chrome in beta? It sure as hell feels like it.
