Any recommendations for ales that I could try tonight? Gonna stop in Waitrose on my way home to pick up a few bottles.

Not sure if Waitrose do it, but Tesco sell Cooper's Pale Ale, which although Australian, is bloody lovely.

I did try some cracking one's recently, but they were from a local brewery up in Leeds. Doubt you'd find them down here unfortunately.

    Which isn't really much help.

Golden Champion and Golden Glory would both be perfect for this weather plus a spot of golfing action.

/laments the passing of King & Barnes' Broadwood.

London Pride is a winner. Don't want to think about the quality of the water they use though.

Old Speckled Hen is a good one, specially if you can get if from the pump.

If you go to the Redding beer festival try the Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby 6% Mild.

I haven't had it for years as the brewery is near my parents but the Ruby Mild was always stunning and has won beer of the year a few times.

My local brewery now is MHB (Malvern Hills Brewery). Black Pear is nice by them but they only provide for a few local pubs I believe.

I quite like Waitrose's organic Green Man Ale, it's a good daytime in the sun drink.

    All ales are good IMO.

Williams Red? Never heard of it.

Am I likely to be able to find it in Waitrose?

I love London Pride. I don't really care what water they use - it tastes fucking nice!

    Worst. Beer. Ever.

I live right next to the Wadworths Brewery. Anybody got a view on 6X. Can't really say its for my taste to be honest. Shame because nearly every pub I got to has huge amounts. Never go wanting.

Saltaire was the name of the brewery in Leeds I was talking about earlier. If anyone sees their stuff anywhere, give them a shot, absolutely cracking ales.
