When staff went to find the 25-year-old, he hid in a cubicle and tried to answer them in a female-like voice.
    Love it!

45k Paralympics tickets went on sale today, seems like they have mostly been sold already. On track to be the first ever Paralympic Games to sell out completely. Fantastic.

They are selling off loads of stuff from the Olympic Village on this site

There are some fairly usefull things like bean bags and lamps but also odd things like grass from the opening ceremony, an umpires chair and an extra long bed for basketball players

Seems a bit of a strange choice to have it on a Monday, I assume the truant officers will be out in force.

Looking at the events calendar, I can only assume there was too much happening to squeeze it in at the weekend.

Sunday has already been put aside for the Tour of Britain cycling.

Other stuff like River Races, etc are happening Saturday, plus London Fashion Week will be starting and will fill the capital with even more pretentious prats than usual.

Chambers didn't win a thing, but it looks like all of Team GB are in the parade, not just the medalists.

Well, nearly all. One member is otherwise pre-occupied with a certain tennis final :p

That was a very nice parade. Shame it has to be ruined by the worst miming I've seen from the Pet Shop Boys.

Go on then, what did Boris do?

He's going to be at least Conservative leader at some point, isn't he? If he actually becomes PM I genuinely think I'd leave the country.

I don't know what worries me more, the thought of Boris as PM, or the fact that most of the people in the current government have no fucking idea how he manages to be popular.

It's called acting human, Dave. Let's just hope it is more than an act, because he seems destined for PM the election after next the way we're going.

    Selected quotes from BBC:

"You brought athletics home, you brought home rowing, you brought home cycling, you brought home ping pong but above all you brought home the truth about this country - which is that there is no limit to what can be achieved."
"You showed that success is not just about talent and luck but about grit and determination. You produced such a combination of tears and joy on the sofas of Britain that you not only inspired a generation, but you probably helped to create one as well."
"Above all, we must thank the people who have made this possible, the most successful British athletes this country has ever had and my word there are a lot of you.

"You brought this country together. You routed the doubters and for the first time in living memory, you caused tube passengers to break into spontaneous conversation."

Boris was on top form, the line about judo was rather good too.

Also on their game was the BBC montage makers again, the wrap up combining footage from both games with the parade and Carly Simon's "Nobody Does it Better" was very good.

The election after next is still going to be a conservative parliament?!

I reckon we'll go Labour next time, possibly in another deal but not with Lib Dems (they're pretty much finished for a long time), Boris in after that.

    Bet you a pint.
  • Deleted user 10 September 2012 17:18:07
That election will in most likelihood be 2020. I have a feeling Boris' stock will be well done by then.

I reckon Tories will win the next one anyway (properly this time), and then Labour back in for 2020.
