My work don't mind - as long as you keep it reasonably tidy, I don't see how they can stop you doing it (unless there is a clause in your contract or something).
If you want to grow a beard, how would your work take it? I think the inbetween stage where you just look scruffy may cause some issues. -

Registered 7 years agoIve grown a beard. I was kind of uhming and ahing about it for a while, then I shaved it off a few weeks ago, decided I looked a bit weird and grew it back.
Not saying im a style icon or anything, but my rugged manliness seems to have encourage a few of the younger guys in the office to stop shaving and grow some hilariously patchy bumfluff.---------------------------------------------------------

Registered 8 years agoThankfully I'm not at the stage where I have to shave anywhere other than my face, but I must say, going grey (just a patch on the left side of my head) I've got used to (it's been about five years or so) and I think it makes me look cool and old enough to buy fags etc. -

I've been bearded all year so far. It's a good look - I trim it to #7 on my remington trimmer pretty much every working day, shape a neck line with a bic, and trim my 'tache where it meets my top lip.

I usually let mine grow to a length where it becomes more hassle than it's worth (I do trim the neckline and other bits), and then lop it all off with the shortest setting on my hairclippers.
The process then repeats itself. -

Registered 6 years agoI used to do that, but when you grow a beard it helps to let it grow and grow. I left it for a month before I did a thing, but after a few months of trimming it to between 1-2cm it starts to really thicken up.PSN: BanjoFett

Registered 6 years agoMine is really thick though and I wouldn't want it any thicker to be honest. I kind of like my system - gives me an ever changing, cyclical 'look'. -

Registered 6 years agoEither that or insist that she shaves herself 'down there' so it is clean shaven all the time, just like a porn star. Fair trade off if you ask me.
And then do what BanjoMan said. -

She does that anyway, I don't have to ask. Which is strange as it doesn't really bother me either way

She relented after i complained about it a bit ago and said i could grow one for a week. A week! Even the lovechild of Olaf Mellberg and Tom Selleck couldn't grow a decent beard in a week! -

Registered 7 years agoAdd me to the nasal plucking group, it definitely gets easier over time.
Ear hairs on the other hand are sneaky buggers, I sometimes get really pale wiry ones, which is odd because I've got dark hair.
I'm also a big fan of the beard, or indeed the moustache. Usually start off with the full beard then shave bits off over time to keep things fresh. Unfortunately my chin is the only part of me that's gone grey, although it is starting to take on a slightly sinister look which has it's appeal. -

Registered 11 years agoFuck that. I grow a beard and I get no sex whatsoever.
Besides, King of Shaves shaving oil, plus a 5 minute scrape in the morning with a mach 3 = THE ULTIMATE WIN!
(nose hair and ear hair wise, just get a pair of sharp nail scissors. Nose trimmers are for nasty old men who dye their pubes brown with grecian 2000 and I've already warned the missus that if I ever see one in my christmas stocking, it'll be in the nearest charity shop the day after boxing day) -

It is receeding however. Was considering shaving it all off at one point and growing a man beard like Jeff Bridges in Iron Man. Then I remembered I wasn't Jeff Bridges

Registered 9 years agoI hate shaving too but i absolutely can't stand having a beard. I always do my own headshave like 3 days. But do a beard shave everyday. Plus, hairs on my ears are a pain. I just pop into my local barber and ask if he could sort it. As for nose hairs, i got this trimmer thing from ebay a while ago. It's alright to use but i always end up knicking the inside of my right nostril just slightly.
So for the next few days, it scabs up a little. So whenever i pick my nose, there's always snot, a bit of scab and some blood.
Eyebrows, I'm too scared to walk into a sallon just to ask for those to be done only. I even got that thing in the middle.
So i'm 24 who shaves everyday, does his nose hair, ear hair, hs horrible bushy eyebrows and blind in the left eye.
Isn't life great. -

Registered 6 years agoI'm a bit of a nightmare when it comes to grooming. My nightly routine is longer than my girlfriends. I use Clinique scruffing lotion before using L'Oreal mositurizer, and then make sure my nasal hair and eyebrows are ok. Takes me about 20 minutes. :/
