Internet nuggets of what we've become.

Not me personally, I won't own one again, I can understand their uses though.

    @Oh-Bollox

Just seen this, what happened to the pilots?
  • Deleted user 5 January 2014 12:43:29
They managed to repair the planes before they crashed into the ground. Or they jumped. Either one.

To their deaths you mean because they weren't wearing chutes.
  • Deleted user 5 January 2014 12:54:03
I think one jumped and the other landed the other plane IIRC. Nobody died.

I saw this for the first time ever over Christmas. Staying at a friends house and there were 6 of us sat "watching" a film but four of the six of us were actually fucking around on their phones. Only me and the grandfather actually paid any attention.

    Depressing really.

It's especially annoying at events or the cinema and stuff as shown in the video.

I must say that the cinema one really riles me. I also stole my nieces phone for a night because she just couldn't leave it alone. I don't bother any more, every fucker is that ignorant now.

I find it bizarre going to gigs in this smartphone age we live. Can hardly see the stage for glowing rectangles. And what do they all do with the videos? Surely the picture quality is terrible because of the low lighting and the sound is a fuzzy mess?

I suspect its just to stick it on Facebook and say 'I was there'.

People taking iPads around and using them as cameras makes me unreasonably angry...

Best thing about those photos of gigs is that they have to add a caption because nobody can see wtf you've taken a picture because every gig looks the same. A repetitive plethora of bright lights on a black background with a few specks of what appear to be people.

And don't get me started on those taking pictures of their food. Pretty sure I read that those that do it, tend to have an unhealthy relationship with food.

I must admit that I've done that when I've been particularly impressed with the presentation. Sorry world. :(

There's something very meta about taking a picture of people so you can rage about them taking pictures of other people
  • Deleted user 7 January 2014 02:24:44
That's what the last third of every pint is for at a gig. Chuck it towards the front, soaking all those iPads and phones with nasty lager.

Not always, granted you may be talking about picture quality but you can film for sound too, someone filmed at a club/concert of 'girltalk' this awesome mash up of daft punk and MJ. Has great sound quality.

There is no way that audio is captured straight from a phone's built-in mic. That is far too clean. Sounds like their phone video has been mixed with the audio from the board.

The last gig I went to was a band playing my favourite album of theirs from start to finish. A relatively special event and I was like a kid waiting for Christmas in the run up to it, then I get there and it's just a sea of glowing fucking rectangles and it really sullied the experience for me. I didn't pay to watch them on the guy in front of me's 4" screen. I haven't been to another gig since for that reason alone. What happened to banning all recording devices at these things?

    Cunts.
