@Blakester Is the recent release of Total Recal a remastered cut or just the same as the first Blu-Ray version? I have the original but noticed that the new version has a bunch of special features.

Terminator getting another release. 1st October 11 on Amazon

Also terminator anthology getting released, may be just America only at end of August

We never had the original Terminator released here on Blu-Ray... hopefully it will finally. Still waiting for Big Trouble in Little China as well but I'be noticed that the US version is region free so might import.

Heat is being released again in steel book case, no idea if they have remastered it. Also steel book copies of blade runner and 300

Oh cool! I hope it's remastered, the last version wasn't worth it

@Gartt That's the new release, AKA the Mind-Bending Edition in some places.

    @Gartt

It's a brilliant transfer as well.

Gone a bit box set crazy. Got Back To The Future, Matrix, Jurassic Park, LOTR extended, Die Hard Quadology and I've just ordered The Godfather (Coppola restoration).

That should keep me busy for a while. Still not watched any of them yet :-)

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Looks good, audio especially. Which would be wasted on me, but still.

Jaws Blue Ray is pretty damn good both visually and sound. Anyone who has it on order won't be disappointed.

To be honest I just want Raiders on Blu ray. Not fucked about the others.

And I don't need another copy of Bladerunner.

Also what's with the total overload of "steelbook" editions all of a sudden? Literally every film ever is being re-released in "steelbook".

Arghh, the Indi boxset looks divine.
I've already bought Jaws, and have Avengers (12.99 on Sainsburys, with an exclusive 90min making of, if any of you are interested) and The Raid on preorder for Sept.
My wife will destroy me if I get that boxset too. :)

It's an easy way to con an extra couple of quid out of thousands of mugs.

They should release them in plastic wallets at a cheaper rate.

I expect that with the way things are headed it won't be long before you can only buy physical versions of films in slightly OTT editions.

    Portable view - Never forget.

I doubt that, supermarket shelf space is a precious commodity.
  • Deleted user 5 September 2012 00:45:23
Are psychical sales still strong? I barely buy anything these days, catalogue titles are either ripped or on netflix and films new films worth owning are few and far between these days.

Even though I'm aware I'm an oddity :D

Well I own about 1500 dvds and a couple hundred blurays at the moment so some of us suckers are still buying physical media. To be fair I have calmed down over the past few years though and don't buy as much as I used to.

HMV are (still?) doing a sale with 5 Blu-rays for 30. It ended up with me buying a fuckton of them. Or rather a lot.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.
