Fat people don't deserve our sympathy because they're not in control like we are. Weak-willed fucks need to die while we stand around pointing and laughing and saying it's all their fault.

I'm going in the depression thread and telling all those people with 'problems' that they should cheer the fuck up and get over themselves.

    Am I doing it right?

Dangerously fat people who choose not to do anything about it are pretty annoying though... You've got to say that.

The word is "choose," it's as though people think they have one. It's like saying to an anorexic or a heroin addict, "you're killing yourself, look in the mirror, now stop what you're doing."

Obesity is a variation of those conditions and should be considered as such.

    But hey.

There is a choice though. Don't be ridiculous. There comes a time in life if you're making a pig's ear of it where you have to take some responsibility for your own actions. Because as much as others can try to help you, ultimately its up to the individual.

And yeah, of course there are *some* extenuating circumstances. Upbringing, genetics, mental state, etc. but that doesn't change the underlying issue. It's still a choice ultimately - She can keep doing what she's doing, or she can do things differently.

Obesity is caused by eating more food than your body requires, gluttony being a sin and all that is probably why being fat is viewed with more disdain.

Gluttony isn't a sin in any religion that I know of.

And lo, Jesus did say, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than it is for that fat cunt to to enter the kingdom of God.

Again, not religious sins for the simple fact that it would make most religious leaders sinners.

If she can't control her food intake (as she obviously can't) she needs someone to intervene and do it for her. Saying she's like a drug addict and then using that as a 'leave her alone' excuse is complete bollocks.

    Fat fuck.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Yup. That kind of excusing line is complete bollocks.

Very little sympathy for her, or the likes of Amy Winehouse whom I would class the same.

I agree with Morriss here largely.

For many people with real weight issues they have unhealthy issues regarding eating habits that are little different to addictions to alcohol or drugs.

There are a proportion who are lazy and feckless, but these should not disguise the real issues for most.

And no they shouldn't be 'left' to eat themselves to death. But it's not as simple as just saying 'eat less'.
