When the game comes out! I'm at the 90 quid level, so get some nice goodies but I won't get to play the game until then either.

Watching the vid made the wait seem awfully long.

Looks like the first beta test starts next month for those who have pledged at least 100. Second beta is Feb if you pledged 50. Full game in March.

Presumably there will be tons of gameplay on twitch and YouTube soon now?

Seem to be few up already for the two missions that seem to be available at the start.

Looks great, I especially like the messages coming in from the other pilots.

    Roll on release day.

Are joysticks still a thing people use on PCs? Cos I really want one all of a sudden.

Yes, in fact one of the last Dev Diary videos showed them playing with a Saitek x50 joystick and throttle :)

Hopefully some of the other video-making alpha backers know how to use the radar.

Is this due out in March?

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

This is really looking more promising than I expected

This is looking extremely good, even more so when you consider that what we're seeing is just an early Alpha version.

I really love the sound design too, it's very impressive. :)

@RobAnybody All the details they show in the alpha footage is fantastic. If the procedural universe and open-world systems are as good, well wow. They have a solid base to build on and they can truly take my money.

Apart from the unfortunate first pitch, can somebody explain why this just made a faction of what Star a Citizen made on KS? They both look great, I don't get the huge gap between them.

@UncleLou it is surprising to see David Braben produce results.

Elite means an awful lot more to Europeans than it does to Americans and they're the ones who are flinging money at Star Citizen like there's no tomorrow.

It was quite a high original target with an absolutely terrible opening pitch so it's not too surprising it took a while to get going.

It's certainly looking really great so far that's for sure.

I can't believe this will be out in March, I thought it was at the very least another year away!

I also found it strange that nostalgia was stronger for the Wing Commander series than it was for the Elite series but there you go. Bit of a generation gap I guess.

I'll finally enter the world of PC gaming just for this. And take a week off work.

Please, don't be shit. Be outstanding!

Star Citizen got in there first too, and also made a PC Master Race friendly pitch of "we will make a game that will happily melt the graphics cards of all PC's"... so naturally lots of OMG GRAPHICS monies there.

You wont be disappointed. The Alpha is great, and also quite challenging with the throttle versus manoeuvrability mechanic, as well as great graphics. The Dev team are awesome to, very vocal on the Alpha feedback forum. I'm looking for to the next stage of the Alpha, with speculation about it being docking, and space stations.

Anyone still playing the Alpha? It's all been a bit quite here and I'm hungry for news.

Yeah, I'm starting to really doubt March as a release date. It has been very quiet lately.

Just got an email through offering me the chance to upgrade from my 50 beta package to access the alpha at a special discount.
Nope, I thought, reasoning I've already pumped enough into this while at the same time clicking the link and hoping it would be 5 or 10.

Nope. 150. After discount. To get access to an alpha version of a game I'm already signed up to get Beta access to.
It scares me that some people would pay that.

Just got my e-mail through, thought I'd take a peek and damn near had a heart attack when I saw they wanted 200 for it, closed the window pretty much straight away. Then I thought, hold on, what's the discount on it, so I clicked through and it knocked 35 off...

Considering I backed at the 20 mark that's not so bad a discount, but a 165 buy-in price? Not happening, especially when it only grants Alpha access. If it included every single reward offered on all the Kickstarter stages in between, it might just about be halfway there but it would still be a struggle to even consider it.
