Would've love to discuss with those who doubted rafa's ability on hard court, or how murray got pretty far and has been improving steadily.

Come back next year around the end of June, when everyone is an expert again.

    ;)

Of course not, I watched most of Sky's coverage of Toronto and am sitting here watching Querrey and Mathieu in Cincinnati. The problem with posting about tennis on EG is that there are about two people on here who actually know what they're talking about, whereas I work in an office with people whose job it is to know about sports, so I discuss it here.

Football would be much better if 40% of the fans weren't complete cunts.

He just sort of (ie. completely) lost his forehand after the first set. Plus, Simon is in a rich vein of form at the moment to be fair

Virtua Tennis is a bit shit really. I think everyone's afraid to admit it.

Because of its ridiculous simplicity it just takes ages to get going. In career mode it's basically win win win win win win win win win win win win win win BRICK WALL OF LOSING as it never challenges you and forces you to actually learn how to play decently.

Virtua Tennis = arcade game = play the arcade mode to get better at it. Or play exhibitions and move through the difficulty levels. Alternatively, play multiplayer. Career mode, whilst fun and having of some cool minigames, was only ever added to stop people moaning about a lack of "value" in buying the home versions.

In multiplayer VT3 is one of the best sports games ever made. Top Spin 3 is a much better simulation of the sport with more satisfying mechanics, but try handing your mate a pad after a night out and expect him to be able to play it. Really not gonna happen.

And I care about tennis all year round. I'm watching Berdych v Gonzalez at the moment.

Everyone knows Track and Field is the best sports game ever made.
  • Deleted user 28 July 2008 21:05:22
Actually, Hypersports might be better. Not sure.

    Stick with this.

Having recently played Beijing round my mates, it cannot compare by a long distance to Track and Field.

I used to like the Gameboy athletic games as well, I think they were called Track Meet?

I don't doubt Rafa's ability in best of 3 Masters events but I'm still not convinced he can do it at the Slams. I'd love him to but not sure just yet. We'll see at the US Open.
