    It's done!!

    One of the purples I got from conversion sold for 8 million on the exchange so I spent one credit less than 3M on an energy duty officer and the tactical officer is bought!

    If no-one has any complaints I'll take the 1.5M that's in the fleet bank but I'm quite happy to pay the other half.

    That's what it's there for, Whizzo. It's something that benefits the whole Fleet so that's okay in my book. Nicely done!

    So I take it we've all seen the front page story on EG about the guy founds using a nudity mod? Horrible stuff. The thread is gone now but it had stuff like naked Catians! Did he even realise you can see stuff for real on the Interner thanks to Rule 34?

    I was loathe to part with the purple doff I gave up. But, for the good of the fleet! :)

    Been spending a fair amount of my windfall buying commodities, I didn't realise my Ferengi's lobes (which gives the 20% discount) are something that aren't on non-bought ones now, I paid for the race with the points I got with the game on release and only just rolled one.

    I queued up the comm array upgrade, shouldn't be as tough to complete as the last couple of projects :)

    It allows the transwarp gate to be built (another 900 fleet marks and ~15k dilthium, as well as some other standard stuff).

    Btw if any assignments come up that require alot of Data Samples then I have no end as I've never really gotten into the crafting I've pretty much done nothing with any of mine since the game went live.

    I think we're usually okay for Data Samples, especially since crafting added Dilithium to all the good stuff so it's barely worth it most of the time now. Though I will leave the sample ones for others to do, as I try to do with Expertise. I don't want to hog all the easy ones now.

    Last night of the fleet event, I think I'll be spending a fair amount of time on tonight trying to get as many fleet marks as possible.

    Although not by doing a starbase defence as badly as a group Fawkes was in last night, that sounded terrible.

    Oh and I didn't mean to just disappear last night but my internet connection dropped at midnight (I think VM were doing some work as it came back 30 minutes later) right when I was in the middle of a scrap with a Jem'Hadar ship in the Cluster, bloody annoying that!

    Really tempted to pop back now I have a little more time on my hands. I take it I've missed some good stuff.

    Have they changed the game much in the last 3 months?

    Fleety stuff. Various Fleet missions have been added to earn Fleet Marks to contribute to projects, plus the Tholian Invasion map and the Defera Invasion is unlocked at all times now.

    Could be useful, from the patch notes :
    Fleets
    Fleet Mark Boosts are now available for purchase on Fleet Starbases!
    Visit your Operations Quartermaster to find the items for sale on your store.
    These boosts do not need to be provisioned, and are available without running any special unlock projects.
    Each boost will provide you with a 20% bonus on your Fleet Marks, up to a total of 100 Fleet Marks earned.
    A minimum of 1 will be awarded in cases where fractions would result.
    The price per boost is 15,000 Fleet Credits.
    5,000 of which you'll make back by donating the bonus Fleet Marks!
    Fleet Leaderboards now update correctly when players contribute multiple Duty Officers at once.

    Looking at the queued starbase projects, it's worth considering that the sensors officers the military ops provisioning requires are worth 500k on the exchange - so it's an effective cost of 15m+ for those 10 provisions.

    It might be worth changing that to something else then, if it's really that pricey. I'll have a look when I'm on, but it certainly seems poop value for money there.

    It's kind of a catch-22; the sensors officers are only really useful because they are needed (in high quantity) for starbase projects, and are only expensive because they are harder to get than most other white quality officers. If it weren't for starbases, they'd be worthless.

    It just boils down to whether people want EC or fleet provisions/marks

    I bought about 100 DOFFs* from the starbase and got about 2 of the more specialist ones, a hit rate like that is pretty awful.

    Cryptic/PWE really need to rejig the DOFF requirements because it's silly and doesn't make them anymore money.

    *move the buy and confirmation window close together and you'll do both just by hammering the left mouse button.

    I forgot, no-one was on when I was so I started that new Special Project for the Bar. I hoped people wouldn't mind having a place to get drunk on our Starbase! It looks a heck of a lot better than the Tribble one at least.

    I'm certainly ok with the bar upgrade, I hope it means the bartender gets activated as well because it'll be silly otherwise!

    We can pay for it by abusing the filing reports Dilithium... :-)

    I never thought about that. "Hello sir, welcome to the new bar. Me, the Bartender, serve you a drink? Oh no no no, you haven't bought the Bartender upgrade yet, I don't yet count as a Bartender", before hiding under the newly furnished bar.

    Hopefully you're right that it probably includes him.

    The bar upgrade sounds a fine idea. I haven't been able to get on much lately to help though unfortunately. I'll be back when my busy patch is up.

    I wonder what the next featured project will be? Gentleman's Club?
