    Captain’s Log, Stardate Wednesday; Fired Ensign Kang when Starfleet offered me a big boobed Vulcan science chick. I ordered her to wear a skirt and stand in a slutty pose, but not to touch any of the consoles. Yeah... 'it’s illogical captain...' illogical like a fox!

    @myk Top tip on the exchange idea. Sounds like I’m not screwing it up by getting attached to my pixels then, so that’s cool. Certainly not looking to number crunch for the higher difficulties.

    Oh so getting to level 1 in a field only gives you the upgrade option that you then have to build, yeah it's going to be a while until we have that shipyard...

    My madness of opening Tholian lock boxes continues (to be honest they're actually the best lock boxes they've ever done), actually quite well really, bunch of Gamma Quadrant DOFFs (rather nice) and TWO, yes, TWO jump consoles.

    I've put the consoles on the exchange for 2.5 million, which is under cutting everyone but if anyone wants one (they're jolly nice) I'll take a master key as payment instead and take them off the exchange.

    I managed to sell one of the assault rifles I got in a box for 1M energy credits earlier today. :-)

    I'd have had one at 2.5 million, but can't afford it in real money even if the Master Keys were 1 Zen each at the moment. It's a fantastic console though, I just hope I manage to get one (assuming they're still doing the boxes next time I get my stipend) :)

    You can get a key from the Exchange for 1.9M last time I was browsing.

    edit: looks like no-one is biting on the consoles so I doubt they'll be out of stock any time soon!

    It's all coming together. We have the shipyard being built now which should unlock the exterior. We should get science up and build a transwarp gate next I reckon. I actually maxed my refined dilithium today, I have a feeling we'll need it.

    Has anyone managed to get past round 5 of "No Win Scenario" yet? I've played it in PUGs with zero communication so that won't help but Christ that's only the halfway stage and it's difficult.

    I really enjoyed one go of it though, round 4 we were facing just one ship, nice and easy! Except it was a Scimitar so the bastard kept cloaking, made for a fun experience though.

    @Whizzo Only played it once, think I was on at the same time as you last night. I got to round 5 and the transport blew up, I survived though. I think we'd be better going in with a couple of fleet people.

    In fact, all my pugs last night were a bit rubbish.

    Featured Project #3 is a sprinkling of tribbles or something. Not sure about that one, unless there's a vendor/assignment contact to get some high tier tribbles.

    Never mind that, the Starbase T1 is taking some grinding out.

    Tribbles huh? Beginning to think I shouldn't have sold all the food I've been picking up!

    Did some fleet mark farming on Nakura last night, I've no idea how they did it but some engineers from both Fed and KDF had the middle tier completely swarming with drones. Now I was impressed with their ingenuity in farming Tholians during the thinning the hive mission but because they were shooting at every target it meant getting to rescue a red shirt from the wall was nearly impossible as they'd have grabbed it.

    Despite that annoyance I think I ended up getting about 100 marks in less than an hour, thank you my security team and Shard of Possibilities!

    Oh and every single advanced tech box dropped some useless bloody suit, still haven't completed my Tholian set.

    Is it too late to get into this? I've been toyign wit hthe idea of giving this a go since I've got the PC and time for it now.

    What's the learning curve like for someone that has never played an MMO before and the only RPG they've played is Zelda and Skyrim :)

    Learning curve is fairly gentle, it's in no way a hardcore MMO and the tutorial is pretty good in introducing you to the game.

    Virtually everything apart from endgame stuff is soloable as well so you can take the game at your own pace without worrying and you get your own AI away team to help you out.

    Ground combat is a lot better than it was on launch but it's still not great but the space combat continues to be a lot of fun.

    I'd give it a go as it's not going to cost you anything and it's probably the last you'll ever see, well hear, of Nimoy as Spock in the Prime Universe too.

    This free to play model... is it totally free? Or dothey get you on charging for better weapons/kit?

    also is it one ship per player? or do you join a ship? Cheers!

    We want you, Razz. I do even recall PMing you, DEMANDING (well, requesting) your immediate conscription into Starfleet! Not that they do that. It's also possible I imagined it. I agree with Whizzo though, it's nice and gentle, and obviously if you get stuck, we've got your back :) You'll get by with just free stuff no problem. You get a few ship slots so can keep your favourites as you level up.

    Sorry I've not been on much to help get the Starbase upgrades, been a bit hectic lately. I'm still on regularly, just not for all that long. Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend, and get some of the Nukara ones done. Latest patch notes say there are Fleet Marks for it now at all times:

    - When fleet hour is OFF: easy = 3 FM, medium = 6 FM, hard = 20 FM.
    - When fleet hour is ON: easy = 6 FM, medium = 12 FM, hard = 25 FM.

    That should be handy. Also:

    - It is now possible to contribute a stack of data samples and particle traces to a Fleet project at the same time.
    - It is now possible to choose a list of Duty Officers to contribute to a Fleet project. :D

    So what's the thoughts on the Tribble Special Project? Should we go for that? Since the queue is clear we could always start it and just leave it there, but obviously if something better comes along we'd have to get it finished. Should have weeks to do it, and it is a timed exclusive, but if no-one else wants it I'd understand.

    you can pay for ships and uniforms but otherwise the majority is free, you get to command your own ship, whenever you rank up aka Lt to Lt Commander then you get a new ship to choose (from either cruiser,escort or science) all have their pros and cons

    Very nice changes for Nukara, I've only been doing the medium stuff solo when the fleet mark timer is on but it's looking reasonable at any time now. If we do some group stuff on a combo of medium and hard outside missions we'd rack up the fleet marks in no time.

    Even by myself I think I managed to complete thinning the hive about 4 times last night, that's 200 Tholians!!

    What are the details on the Tribble project? I can't seem to find them.

    I do have one of most of the exotics in my bank that I can try and breed.

    Oh right you don't breed them (that would have been a nice way of doing it) but pay 200K Dilithium, er no, that's fucking mental.

    @DFawkes I've resisted till now as I haven't had the time! Also, to be honest, whilst I'm into Star Trek, I'm not a very good gamer! :D I certainly try to be usefull though. ^_^

    @Razz At worst you can always grind out the Dilithium and change it for zen points ( Perfect Worlds scrip) to buy some stuff. Althought that might only be viable for lockbox keys.

    Moodily I've stopped playing. I ran into a supremely broken mission which just endlessly repeats itself (one of the main missions, around 28 I think... some Reman crap). Best waste of two hours ever.

    Thankfully I stopped myself rage-uninstalling... but it might be a while before I talk myself into playing again.

    Shoddy arse game. And still no rank pips!

    Thanks, appreciate that but apparently grouping makes it worse. There's a skip button and the rewards are for shit on it anyway, so it'll just mirror universe event a level out to move past it. When I get over being grumpy.
