I don't think there was a single new song in the show I saw.

Compared to the mighty Bill Bailey, who I do love, Tim has far more new material with each tour, and its original work at that. I agree with Motti, I think Bill has real competition.

When I saw him a week back, he didn't have much that wasn't available on youtube, I don't think, but about half of it was new to me. It's the same as his last tour apparently, due to demand, so it's to be expected.

He was still very good, and I think he knows that he has to do everything slightly differently live since most of his audience are familiar with his stuff. There's plenty of banter between songs anyway.

Great show last night, no new material unfortunately but a great performance.

The stand up side of his act has really improved over the last year or so too, he seems much more at ease with the audience.

Went away with a signed DVD too!

From what I've seen he's very talented and charismatic but not very funny. That'll come though.

Funniness is so objective though that it's really difficult to define. I guess you could say he doesn't make you laugh that much. Ten foot cock and a few hundred virgins still makes me giggle, at least.

I was just about wetting myself the 1st time I saw him do "Angry", but a lot of material is more clever-funny than lol funny. Sort of a cross between Bill Hicks and Bill Bailey.

Some more Tim links (from his show Live at the O2):

    Im in a Cage
    Con(text)
    Thank You God
    The Fence
    Lullaby
    Cheese
    Beauty

For this whole show he had a full symphony orchestra behind him and sounds great :) My favourite out of this lot has to be Cont(ext). Although it is hard to choose...

Tim Minchin's Storm the Animated Movie

It's a 10 min animated short. And it's full of awesome.

    I DIDN'T KNOW THIS THREAD EXISTED! /caps

I went to see the full orchestra show last December in Newcastle, bloody amazing. I'd totally forgot about "I'm In A Cage".

I'm going to see him in Glasgow on Monday with the full orchestra, can't wait!

Last year's show by himself was good but I think this is going to top it.

Saw him a week ago or so and loved him all over again.

I know it's the same songs, but he's now reached the level of being more like a singer than a comedian; I want him to sing the golden oldies.

Having said that, I enjoy the comedy songs more than the musical masturbation some of the non-comedy songs end up becoming when live.

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.
