If you think shorts are only for sports then you're an idiot, and if you think working in a full suit all day in the blistering heat is fun that you're a cretin ;)

It's not fun, but it is the correct, British thing to do.
Well I must be a very un-British Brit then. And couldn't give a toss about it. Sweating in a three piece (if you're wearing a suit do it properly) on a hot day is not my idea of good times...and also has no bearing on how well I do my job (though I wouldn't meet clients wearing shorts, that's a step too far) :p
I bet you're the type of person who eats at fast food establishments.

Been chucking it down most of the day in West Dorset, but it's still hot and muggy. And we didn't even get an entertaining thunderstorm. There's a big one just off the south east coast now.

All the weather services I checked this morning were claiming it would rain all day here. Instead it was 27 degrees with not a cloud in the sky. Nice one, guys.

Same here, although it's now pissing down with thunderstorms, despite the sky being completely cloudless at around 3pm.

Fucking useless BBC forecast said temperatures wouldn't exceed 21C today. They were wrong as it reached 27C!

Wouldn't argue with a bit of thunder, but nothing yet.

The forcast is provided by the Met Office, therfore the accuracy of the forcast is Cameron and Cleggs fault.

The rain was nice but I swear it actually made things hotter. Still over 30C in my house at the moment.

25 in mine, only 16 outside. Don't really get that.

Unfortunately it's now looking like two weeks of solid rain. God bless Britain. lol

The forecast for the midlands still predicts sun+clouds for the next ten days. It says 27C and clear skies for next Thursday and Friday..

28 degrees here up on the mountain. Done for the day, another slog working in doors without shirts. About to head home so will gain a few degrees. Joy.

35 deg C today, was nice to spend 4 hours floating down a crystal clear alpine river, having an occasional dip into the water to cool off before climbing back into the raft was fantastic :-)

Silly how warm it still is after midnight, thunderstorm coming soon, yay!

Rained a lot here in Gloucestershire and, for the first time in about 5 weeks, I actually feel a bit cold.
    Couldn't be happier :)

I religiously painted myself in factor 60 but didn't do my knees enough as they took so much sun being seated in the boat :-(

Hate days like these as it means it's stinking warm upstairs at night. Bedroom is like a sauna and opening the windows only blows in warm air. Doesn't help having a sick irritable kid in the house!

Awful day. It has just been hot, really fucking hot today. But with not actually being that sunny. So it is just an awful stuffy heat.

Got cooler recently up in the grim north, seriously warmed up this afternoon though. Definitely not the day for leftover 10 chilli pork curry.
