Just voted for Broken Sword 2 and Baldur's Gate II. Woo. I think I might have an invite too if anyone else wants one.

Registered 11 years agoI think the site looks great, but there's nothing there that interests me right now. Especially when I've managed to get thru the whole weekend without touching DMC 4. Where does the time go... -
Battlechess just been added. That brings back some childhood memories. Think I had the EGA version. IIRC if the King takes the Queen he fucks her to death.

So is anyone else using this at all? I've bought pretty much all the Interplay catalogue now - spending more time reliving old memories of Stonekeep, MAX and Die By The Sword than I have with new releases.

Registered 8 years agoI'll give them that Fallout 2 doesn't work worth a damn on a modern PC, and I would pay good money for that, but generally I don't see what the fuss is about. Most of the games work fine in their original form (indeed, they can't do a better wrapper for Planescape than the community has already managed - widescreen patches, and a list of bugfixes/added content as long as your arm) and can be had a lot cheaper, in jewel cases and with manuals and so on.
Games like Sacrifice are or were available on Sold Out which work fine on Vista. They are going for a song on ebay/Amazon. Giants works fine in the original jewel case version.
But anyway I'll let them off because hell, old games reaching a bigger audience.
Also: vote for naffing Dungeon Keeper, not that they stand any chance of getting it working. -
A lot cheaper than $5.99? That works out to something like £3.20 per game. A quick scan of ebay does show Sacrifice coming up as £2, yes...but with £2 p&p as well.

It's now in Public Beta for everyone. They've also just acquired some new publishers. The original Gothic is coming to it next Tuesday.

DOS games use DOSBox, yeah. Windows games are tweaked to run properly on modern machines if need be.
They all support unofficial patches and whatnot as well (though for legal reasons the games are only distributed patched to the latest official version), so the various Fallout mods work fine - including the resolution patcher. -
