Anyone played Unepic? I quite like the look of the game and it's on sale at the moment. Any thought are appreciated.

Could I please have some recommendations for a game that will keep me busy for the next month. I mean the sort of game that I can play all evening and be excited to do so for the next 4 weeks at least.

I'm posting here since I assume an older game is more likely to fit the bill.

I am stuck in an empty flat until August and then a room at a friend for a week until I can move up to join my girlfriend in Cape Town.

This is my current living arrangement:

Alpha Centauri, Colonization, Civ 4, or anything of that ilk.

Dark Souls and XCOM might complement each other nicely, depending on your mood. I've invested hundreds of hours in each. And FTL, too! Well, only 70 hours for that one.

You can lie back and use that 360 pad for DS (recommended) and XCOM, but FTL would be very mousey.

Ok cool. Will check em out, thanks :)

Finished XCOM, but I have Dark Souls to start still.

    Cheers re kitties :-P

I was also thinking along the lines of a point and click adventure (finished Broken Swords and Monkey Island series) or something like Fallout (always wanted to try it), but not sure it's long enough?

Where can I get Full Throttle and the Disc World games? Can't find em anywhere. Are they abandonware by now?

Has anyone played the remake of Rise of the Triad? I'm specifically wanting to know if it has the same music as the original, if anyone's played it

In fact, planescape torment, gogged up so it works straight from the off, for $2.49 is ridiculously good value for money

Well... the GOG versions of Baldurs Gates 1&2, Icewind Dales 1&2, ToEE and Planescape: Torment have all been bundled together for about 3-3.50 a couple of times from Impulse and Gamersgate, and the NWN 1+2 Collection has been a fiver before.

Their new slidey scale is a bit better than the old one, but I'd still prefer an indiscriminate 75% percent off. Then again, that might suggest that the games aren't worth very much... ;)

Edit: you can't just buy Planescape: Torment there for $2.49, quadfather! It's $5.99. :p

I'm getting it. Only $2.49 isn't what you pay if you just buy one game, more games you buy from the bundle the bigger the discount.

Still. Pretty much everything in that bundle is brilliant.

You could just watch this and this and wait for the next 75% discount, y'know!

Told you to wait! Now 4.49 for Baldur's Gates 1 & 2 & expansion, Icewind Dales 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment and Temple of Elemental Evil at GG. Those are the GOG versions of the games, too.

Temple of elemental evil isn't brilliant, and icewind dale isn't an RPG so much as a non-stop combat fest, but BG and Torment are worth the price alone. Install the cut content mods, up-res them to modern standards and that's about 6 months of gaming right there.

Today's release: I have no mouth and I must scream

It's aged a bit, but still an interesting game with some uncomfortable scenes

Well Privateer is on sale, so it's worth a look. Plus all the other WC games are on sale. And it's almost worth $5.99 to watch BB in full flow :)
