Is London becoming the most dangerous city in the world?

    London - one of the big business capitals of the world, people used to runaway to London, how long will it be before they are running away from the place, in the last 24 hours 4 people have been stabbed to death!! and 1 is in hospital (critical).

    It's important to note that a lot of the stabbing are gang related but not all of them.

    This is an awful shame and very frightening.

    Then you have the ever present danger of a terrorist attack (they aren't gonna blow up some little village,are they?)

    You're being a bit misled by media spin there buddy. There are no more stabbings then there were 5 years ago, probably less, its just that stab stories sell papers at the moment.

    You'll note that Scotland is considerably above England and Wales in murders per 100,000 people, which suggests London might not even be the most dangerous city in the UK.


    Of course, if you are looking at total number of murders per city, London will have a higher figure than any other city in the UK and most of them in Europe, but that's because greater London is fucking ENORMOUS. There's 10 million people in greater London, more than in many countries.

    The Met Police website shows 160 murders for the whole of London in the 12 months to March 08.

    Now look at San Salvador. If Carlsberg made terrifyingly dangerous murdertowns

    With 1.6 million people San Salvador had 450-odd murders in 2006. London, with vastly more people, has far less.

    Historically the most dangerous place on earth is Israel. Currently Zimbabwe and Iraq are probably worse but there will never be peace in Israel as to many different factions believe it should belong to them.

    Highest percentage of murders per person in Western Europe according to Channel 4.
    I can't provide links 'cos I'm on the PS3, but I typed Glasgow murder rate into Google, and theres loads of examples.
    It has 3 times the murder rate of London.
