    No! Would you?

Yeah no problem with that! Just as long as I don't have to eat it :)

I got 700g of 28 day aged dexter rib eye from East London Steak Co. to grind up for burgers. Very extravagant but a friend of mine is coming over so it's a good excuse to push the boat out!

Gonna have beef patty, melted gouda cheese, caramelised paprika onions, and pickles in a buttered bun. Can't. Wait.

    Inaugrial burger next week!
Just discovered gouda this weekend while starting a drive to improve my homemade burgers.  That creamy slightly nutty taste works really well, it was a gamble that paid off.

Also upgraded my supermarket mince for some chuck steak from a butcher's, the difference was so great I'm amazed I never bothered before.

What other beef should I be looking for?

Yeah it makes such a difference! I would say for a well marbled rib eye or sirlion steak. A combination of both would probably be best ( sirloin from flavour and rub eye for tenderness and fat) just experiment and find what works best for your yastd/budget :)

For all you Patty & Bun lovers, they have a two patty special on at the moment called the 2stac Shakur. It looks a mess, but with their calibre you can guarantee it's immense:

    https://twitter.com/AllThingsMeaty/status/336092231184314369/photo/1

    They say it has:

double patty, double cheese, miso mustard aioli, double ketchup, pickled onions, sautéed onions and deep fried shallots!

I'm going as soon as possible...

    @monkehhh

The miami nice, isnt it? It's like a boozy slushy, good! They do milkshakes with bourbon too. Did you have a burger? It's good to have a place like that in a central location.

@wobbly_Bob It's on for the next week or two, I'm definitely going to go there for a late lunch sometime soon...

@wobbly_Bob @monkehhh the Black Palace is awesome but retains so much heat from the onions it cooks the meat more toward medium by the time you've unwrapped it, still very tasty mind. The poppaz in there are freaking wonderful too!

Pretty soon NYC's Shake Shack is opening in the Piazza just over from MEATmarket, where Union Jacks used to be. It suffices to say I'm rather excited about that one...

If you like your burgers looking neat and pretty, then perhaps. If you like them looking like dirty sluts what want to fuck your arteries while tromboning your taste buds, then no, not in the slightest.

Can some fat mod add that missing "i" in the thread title.

    Ta.

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

Burgers are the only food I miss since becoming a vegetarian. There are some very good (and very bad) veggie burgers around, but nothing quite comes close.

@monkehhh do it, do it, do it. You will not regret it. I've eaten at most of the recommended burger places in London and that is by far the best I've had. It's awesomesauce.

I'm going to try Bleeker Burger tomorrow as they're pitching up near where I work, been meaning to tick them off the list.

@imamazed I've been told the MEATliqour halloumi and mushroom burger is supposed to be excellent, but I can't see past the meat when I go to such places.

@Petulant_Radish Not a fan of mushrooms tbh.

The best mainstream one I've had is at nandos. It's soya, but the texture is great and it's nice and thick. I like my veggie burgers as similar to beef as possible.
