It made it just for YOU..!

My cat does that every time on the way to the cattery.

She throws up all over herself and the box, then pee's herself and just as we are pulling up at the Cattery she will curl one out and step around in it...! EVERY time...!!!

She also dribbles everywhere and is in one HELL of a mess once we arrive. :( She really hates car travelling.

What I don't understand is that if they hate travelling so much why make it worse by shitting everywhere, and covering themselves in it?

I mean I hate travelling on the Northern Line at peak times, but I wouldn't shit everywhere to make that point.

    :p

My house currently does smell a wee bit of cat piss. Been working to get the cat on the loo so I can ditch the litter tray. I took the last step a bit too soon, so she refused and pissed and shit on a fleece blanket that was on the sofa whilst I was at work. It soaked into the sofa cushion underneath. I cleaned it some with warm water and a tiny bit of fairy liquid. Still reeks some. What's the best way to sort it?
I believe local has some experience with cat wee.
    Tips welcome!

@Salaman Add a tablespoon of baking soda to your warm water and fairy liquid mix. Rub it into the stain, leave it to dry and brush off the residue. You may need to do it a couple of times to get the smell completely out. In the unlikely case it doesn't get the smell out completely add a little H2O2.

So a small cute cat with no collar followed me home this evening and tried to get into my house when i came in. Now it's sitting on my step and has been there for about an hour. How long should I wait before I get worried?

I've got to say this is the best titled thread on here.

Is it supposed to be like this?

Take it in you and give it some grub. Ya never know. You may have a new buddy there if you treat him/her right.

    Faux, have you fed it?

Once you feed it, it will now consider you it's owner and you might as well let it in.

I left the seat for a few flippin' seconds, and just look at the furry little cow. She can't even look me in the eye.

I went down to check if she was still there and she ran into the house. Can't kick her out now, there are foxes. Not feeding her though.

Anyone got advice on minimising the possible impact of cat mess on a house with none of the equipment?

Feed her you tight bar-steward. Give her some ham or cheese. Cats love that stuff.

And have you got anything that could make a kitty litter tray?
How about taking a drawer out of its chest, empty it and putting that down. Line it with newspaper and if you got any sand or fine gravel then fill the drawer up with a cm or so. If you haven't got none of that maybe try some grass.

Im pretty sure you can't be arsed doing any of that but hey, any love you give a cat you'll get back ten-fold. They make awesome pets.

Also, get a shoelace or some string too and have a little play with her. Get a newspaper and put your hand underneath it so the tips of your fingers pop out the side and move them around erratically. My cat used to love that :)

I feed all three of my neighbours cats leftover bits of chicken and other tasty things. Unsurprisingly they like spending quite a lot of their time in my kitchen. One of the cats only has three legs so I call it Triforce.

    Haha! That's a great name :D

I give my cats half a small tin of tuna sometimes as a treat, but only once every few months. It's really bad for them, especially the tins in brine unless you drain and rinse them properly.

I do give them scraps of leftover roasts though, like beef and chicken and stuff. They particularly seem to like the skin of a roast chicken and the fatty bits of pork.

    They love smoked salmon too.

I've now got a likely stray kitten asleep on my bed, purring like a motherfucker. This does not seem sensible.

Should be fine mate. Best thing to do is get them down a vet so they can have a health check and get their shots, give you an idea of their age, etc. It's obviously taken a shine to you so there's nowt wrong in adopting it if you're sure it's a stray (if anything, you're probably doing it a favour by giving it a stable source of food and shelter). You obviously like it otherwise you wouldn't have fed it and let it sleep on your bed!

    Take a picture!

(obviously, check with neighbours to make sure he isn't a lost one)

Oh, and you probably know this, but don't give it milk.

Cats are lactose intolerant and it gives them the shits. They're perfectly fine with water. And keep it away from garlic and onions or meat that is flavoured with them (they're toxic to cats). Unless you want to be cleaning up cat shit and puke of course...

If you take the kitten to the vet they will also check if it's microchipped in case it's lost and wandering, but if it's a very small kitten it probably won't have been done yet. They'll also recommend spaying/neutering.

If you don't want it hand it to to the RSPCA or Cat Protection League. Kittens get adopted in about two days because everyone wants a kitten. Older cats take longer to adopt.

My cat was an RSPCA rescue cat about 18 months old. She was a stray, had been spayed but not microchipped. She like humans but is currently picking fights with all the friendly local cats. I blame her upbringing. Must be tough growing up on the streets.

Yeah, massive paws. That's her summer coat as well, she looks epic in the winter. She gets huge tufts of fur between her toes.
