|i just finished oblivion (yes i know its late but the games huge) and decided to play morrowind. i've just started and am loving it so far, seems much more unique than oblvion, but the combat's a bit... well broken seems an appropriate word. any mods that improve it.|

If memory serves there is a mod which alters the combat slightly but it didn't make any sweeping changes. I think it just added more of it and new npc's for the most part.
I agree with you btw, morrowind was more absorbing and better realised than oblivion. This was before the genre got 'consolized' though. It had a feeling of a true adventure, you happened across the good loot and some parts were inaccessible from the start simpily because you werent tough enough to go there. Vanilla oblivion was scaled and the loot randomized so it just felt like diablo in 3d.
Oblivion is still and excellent game mind but only after installing about 40-50 mods, literally. If you only ever played vanilla oblivion i STRONGLY recommend you give it a go with Oscuros oblivion overhaul, martigans monster mod & francescos creature and items installed. It basically makes it a new game, the game we all wanted from the start.
But yeah on topic, the official forums are by far the best place to start for morrowind and oblivion mods. Pretty much everything goes through there.
Notice the forum called 'morrowind mods'. Basically every mod ever made for the game will be listed somewhere in there.
Hear this warning though, if you really want to make the most of oblivion & morrowind mods be prepared to do alot of reading and fiddling. The end result is worth it!
thanks a lot popej. looks like there's some amazing stuff here. i'm beginning to get a feel for the combat now and the magic system is amazing. the only thing that annoys me is that you can't be certain of hitting something. 1 in 3 swings connects. still i'm going to stick with morrowind instead of replaying oblivion coz i really want to see the story pan out. if you have any must have mods (for anything, not just combat) that's be great

There are a few good graphics mods around, such as these two:
I do really miss Morrowind. I might have to try that morroblivion thing out- Oblivion, while good (modded), feels so generic! And I miss those dwemer ruins...
